You will have to pass through Kampung Bako anyway, as Bako National Park is only accesible by water and Kampung Bako is the place from which you will catch the boat. If you have time, you may like to take a boat ride and explore this typical Malay village with stilt houses built on the water.

A: Hi! Hiking boots/runner shoes would be fine for the Bako & long house trip. Beach sandal should come in handy for the boat ride to Bako NP and along the river (if any)...
