The Teochew porridge buffet at Coffee Terrace Restaurant (Genting Hotel) is not really authentic as it is missing quite a few popular dishes which contain pork (in order to make it halal). It is more worthwhile to taste the other cuisines. The dim sum over at Good Friends Restaurant (Highlands Hotel) is quite good though.

There are a few big shops selling local tid-bits located at the cable-car station at the foot of Genting Highlands, just after you leave your cable-car when you are going down the mountain. There are many many varieties of tid bits at very cheap prices and you can try them out to check out which ones you like before buying. This place is a must when you are leaving Genting Highlands.

There is a cosy cafe called Skyway Food Station at the cable-car station at the foot of Genting Highlands when you make your way up to the mountain. You can have your meals or a snack here if you are hungry, the food is mainly local such as noodles, rice etc but they have sandwiches, burgers etc as well. I find this place relaxing and the good is not bad, worth checking out when you are there.

The various hotels in Genting Highlands offer a variety of buffets depending on the period. When I was there in August 2005, the Resort Hotel offered Middle East buffet lunch which is quite nice. So do check out the buffet selections when you are in Genting Highlands.

The Restoran Hainan Kitchen serves Chinese food, mainly of the origin from Hainan Island in China. Famous dishes include the chicken rice. During the morning, this restaurant also serves delicious breakfast, which is usually set meals with items such as bread (toasted), eggs, drinks (coffee, tea, milo or orange juice). This restaurant is quite popular.

Mary Brown Chicken is the local brand of Fried Chicken located at the First World Plaza.
They serve chicken porridge in the morning.
It was much cheaper than McDonalds.
Their chicken burger also taste good.

Chicken lover should stop by at KFC.
At KFC, they serve "finger licking good" succulent, tempting and mouth-watering pieces of fried chicken.
The chicken are marinated with famous Kentucky Fried Chicken recipe blend of 11 special herbs and spices.
The 2 outlets can be found at First World Plaza and Genting Indoor Theme Park.

Burger King is famous for its tastey burgers and fries.
The burgers are made of flame-grilled juicy patties.
You could have some fast food if your winings are bad and I am sure the kids will love fast food too.

The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf sells specialty whole bean coffee and loose tea leaf.
Take your pick between Starbucks or Coffee Bean.

Everytime we come to Genting, we will pay a visit to Kenny Rogers.
The chicken are cooked using the rotisserie method instead of deep fried. They are nicely marinated with special blend of natural citrus, herbs and spices.
There are 12 choices of healthy and wholesome food selection hot and cold side dishesto complement your meal.
My favourite is the Kenny's Home-Made Corn Muffins.
