this casino is the largest of the 3 casinos in the Genting Highlands and is located in the Genting Hotel. All are owned by Casino De Genting (Resorts World) Being the largest, they have more card table games here and they have more baccarat gaming tables and 21 gaming tables than in the smaller Starworld Casino in First World Plaza but as in there, there is a preponderance of chinese centered card games like Chinese games such as tai sai and pai gow which outnumber the baccarat tables by a factor of 4 to 1. There are roulette gaming tables too and they also have a higher bet limit area and best of all they also have a Foreign VIP room for Foreign High Rollers, they just have to present their passport and they can enter the VIP Room (i'm not a high roller ok, just a two bit gambler hehehe) and again the minimum bet for card games like baccarat or pai gow is RM 25 and for the rouletteat RM 10 and for the higher limit tables at RM 50 and above. And again if you want to play the many slot machines then apply for a Resorts World Card (hey it's free ok) then you can start playing the slot machines at RM 1 per bet minimum.
dress code is no slippers or Tank Tops and again, Muslim Malaysian Citizens are mot allowed inside so the crowd is mostly Malaysian Chinese and also the card dealers and the pit bosses.
there is no entrance fee or show money needed, again the casino here maybe big but ares still smaller than south east asian standards for casinos (15,000 square feet).
this is the smaller casino of the Genting Highlands and is located at the level 2 area of the first world plaza of First World Hotel. The starworld casino is waaay smaller in floor area compared to other casinos in the south east asian region with a floor area of only about 5,000 square feet and it has two levels and there is a higher bet limit at the second level area of the casino (pictures are not allowed inside hence i don't have pictures of the inside). The Starworld Casino is smaller than the Genting Casino in the Genting Hotel and the minimum bet here for a card game like baccarat or texas hold em is RM 25 while at the higher limit tables are RM 50. for the slot machines the minimum coins will be RM 1. the card table games are fewer and there are more slot machines than say in Macao or in Singapore or in the Philippines. Again the Casinos in Malaysia are small and all Muslim Malaysians are not allowed to enter inside.
there is no show money or entrance fee to enter the Starworld casino. Table games of choice are roulette, baccarat and Chinese games such as tai sai and pai gow, with poker barely registering and you must register for a resorts world card to play the slot machines.
a lot of people that go to the genting highlands come here not only due to the various attractions and amenities offered in the huge complex but also to enjoy the pleasant cool weather since the genting highlands is just more than an hour away from bustling Kuala Lumpur and the Cameron Highlands is a further 4 hours away. With an altitude of 5,700 feet above sea level, the weather here is a cooler 5 to 10 degrees celsius lower then in Kuala Lumpur hence this is a favorite destination of the holiday makers, casino people and plain tourist since is it a cool hill station just nearby so when strolling around genting highlands, enjoy the cool weather and dont forget to bring warm clothes and gear.
The World Famous Resorts World Consortium got it's big break when it's founder, visionary Chinese-Malaysian Taipan Tan Sri Goh Tong developed the once rugged and forested Mountain Gunung Ulu Kali in the Titiwangsa Highlands 55 kilometers north of Kuala Lumpur in the 1970's into what is known today as the Genting Highlands and this pocket sized casino cum integrated resort complex is the only one in it's kind in malaysia and is one of the Most Popular Integrated Casino and Entertainment Complex in the World. Today, the Resorts World Groups has many Intergrated Casino and Resort and Entertainment Complexes around the World Like the Resorts World Gentin, Resorts World Sentosa (where a Universal Studios is Located), Resorts World Manila and Various Resorts World in the United Kingdom. The Resorts World Genting is the Most Popular of them All, drawing millions of People per year.
The main attraction for adults going to Genting Highlands are the 24 hours casinos. There are several big casinos there and only those above 21 years old can enter. The most popular game in the casinos are the jackpot machines and the "better" ones and usually hogged by the regular visitors and it is very difficult for you to try them. There are also the usual games in the casinos such as poker, blackjack etc. Gambling is not my cup of tea so I did not spend too much time in the casinos :) More details are at the website below.
