Satay Kajang Hj. Samuri: The best satay in town!

by twoseids Written Feb 19, 2004

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

There are now 9 different locations for Satay Kajang Hj. Samuri, of which 3 are in Kajang. So I guess you don't HAVE to go to Kajang to enjoy great Kajang satay!

Favorite Dish: I usually get 5 chicken and 5 beef - I prefer the beef but like the variety. Their teh ais (iced tea with sweetened condensed milk) is okay. I think I like their watermelon juice better.

Restoran Hai Lik: Restoran Hai Lik

by chiabh Updated Dec 14, 2006
    hai lik restaurant at kwangtung...

Hai Lik is one of the many seafood restaurant in Kajang... It has both air-conditioning and non air-conditioning dining halls... The atmosphere is local and the restaurant is a bit noisy with patrons talking at the top of their voices ~ typical of the Malaysian Chinese crowd...

Favorite Dish: The 2 specialities that you must have when here is the seafood curry (curry hai seen poh) and the butter fried fish (lai sah fish)... Just order a plate of plain mee hoon to go with the curry soup... and you will not regret it...

  • Haji Samuri: Haji Samuri, the most famous Kajang Satay

    by ph7 Written May 19, 2006

Haji Samuri is one of the first who made satay in Kajang I guess. Anyways, you can find Haji Samuri in lots of different places now, not only in Kajang. You can get Hj Samuri in Putrajaya, Bangi, etc. Not sure where else I saw them but definitely more than these places. Their satay is really good, and if you want good ambience, you can visit the Hj Samuri beside the Stadium Kajang.

    the restaurant...

The NN Restaurant (ie No-Name) or rather stall is rather misleading with dining tables placed on the road side... The restaurant is very crowded on weekends and expect to wait at least an hour for dinner to be served... You may have to wait for a table if no reservation is made...

The restaurant is opened daily only for dinner from 6.00pm...

Favorite Dish: The restaurant has one of the best braised pork knuckles in town... Its steam fish is also the talk of the town... Do not miss its Hokkien mees as well...

BKT Restaurant @ Cheras: BKT Restaurant @ Cheras

by chiabh Updated Sep 2, 2008

The restaurant is located at a residential house by the commercial area... It is non air-conditioned with the cooking in full view of diners... Opposite the restaurant is another stall selling "pan mee" which is also very "famous" in this area...

The restaurant is opened daily for breakfast and lunch except on Wednesdays when it is closed...

Favorite Dish: The speciality is, of course, bah kut teh (or pork ribs in herbal soup)... There is nothing special about the bkt but the steamed fish is one of the best in town...

    the entrance...
    3 more images

The restuarant is a mini-club with a dining area and bar area... The dining area is very basic with the usual tables for customers... In the bar area, there is a long bar, a pool table and tables for drinks and food as well... The owner, Robert Low, is a yo-yo expert having represent Malaysia in various yo-yo competitions worldwide... A display of his 700 pieces of yo-yo collection, from antique ones to very high tech ones, can be seen on the walls of the bar area... At the entrance, there is also a display of an old typewriter and telephone set...

The restaurant and bar is open daily only for dinner from 6.00pm to 12.00midnight... Last food order is at 11.00pm... It is opened later at about 8.00pm on Tuesdays because of the night market in the vicinity...

Favorite Dish: Robert is the youngest son of th late Mr Low Lee Chin who ran the Chin Kee Restaurant (now closed) in the old days in Kajang... In the good old days, Chin Kee is noted for its Hokkien mee which is known far and wide and of which I am certainly a fan... Felicidad also try to maintain this family tradition but sad to say, its Hokkien mee is not comparable to that of Chin Kee... Besides the Hokkien mee, Felicidad has an extensive menu covering both Chinese and fusion food... This includes chicken and pork chop, pepper chicken, all types of fried noodles (with prawns etc)...

Malaysian Restaurant: Kajang Best Satay Store

by yeikloen Written Aug 28, 2002

The restaurant isn't that great in a sense of cleaniness but this is the place to have the best satay in Kajang. The meat in each bamboo stick are larger and average other satay restaurant or stalls.

Favorite Dish: Beef and Mutton Satay. They do serve Hainaness Fried Noodles with Coconut and Sugar Can drinks.
