I'm usually quite cautious whenever I'm travelling. More so if the place is reknowned for theft and kidnapping. But Batu Pahat was really a breath of fresh air. In a short span of time when my family and I were in Batu Pahat, the people there showed me how down-to-earth they were and also, how they would go all their way to help lost tourists such as us.
The first instance was when we were looking for the mall - The Summit. We stopped at the Shell petrol station just beside the town square. An Indian man working at the petrol station not only gave us the directions, he even rode on his motorcycle to guide us all the way to the doorstep of the mall! What's more, he did it out of goodwill.
The next instance was when we were at The Summit and had was looking for Ah See wanton noodle house. We asked a couple and even though they are not sure of the location, the lady actually whipped out her mobile phone to contact her relative to ask for directions. A man who was standing nearby overheard our conversation offered us a helping hand. "Turn left and then another left. After that, turn right on at the third traffic light and just go straight". We had no problems locating the place.
Wonderful, wonderful people!
Pay Rm11800.00 to get a Vietnamese wife, is a local BP custom. I heard from a local BP friend, they went in group to Vietnam to meet the girls and if OK, they will arrange for marriage. Feel free to make a phone call to the numbers listed.
