'Kueh Raya'
  • Tip Rating:
  • During the month of Ramadhan a lot of place in J.B will have bazaar that sell clothing and Malay's Kueh for Hari Raya…If you are around any of this bazaar take the advantage to buy some of the Malay's Kueh (Mostly biscuits). Some of these Malay's delicacies are so hard to find except in the month of Ramadhan and most people regardless of their races will take the advantage to buy it.

    Second Home For Some S'porean
  • Tip Rating:
  • Not all S'porean go to J.B just to shop but some go to J.B to visit their families or relatives there. Some even bought a house in J.B to stay. We love J.B because the feeling of kampong life is there.
Some S’porean married to M’sian and prefers to stay in J.B or vice versa…Anyway Singapore was under Malaysia once!

    Bus Stop
  • Tip Rating:
  • Look at the bus stop...It has no sign, so you better make sure where you want to go or which bus you want to take! The good thing is that the bus driver will always let you alight somewhere to take another bus if you make the wrong choice...A sincere appologies and a thank's from the heart will always go a loooong way!

  • Tip Rating:
  • Cigarettes price in S'pore are killing the smokers even before the cigarettes does…So most smokers that come to M'sia especially J.B wouldn't want to miss the chance to buy the cigarettes even just for a packet or so.

    Car Wash
  • Tip Rating:
  • After a long drive you probably will be too tired to wash your car, and yet you just can't stand to see how bad it was…Not to worry, just sent your car for a car wash. At Dr.Clean car wash they charge RM 8.00 for a car wash and at RM 20.00 will have an engine wash. RM2.00 extra on Festive season. This car wash will be operating 24hrs a day when the M’sian new Immigration center open but now it's open only until 2.00a.m. I find their service satisfactory. Well you can’t get this price in S’pore!

There's a Johor Tourist Information Center, JOTIC in short, situated just across the road from the Abu Bakar Museum.

From there, one can get information of where to go and some brochures.

There's also some cultural performances mainly for the tourists. Be amazed at the unique musical instruments that they use.

    University of Malaysia
  • Tip Rating:
  • Planning of the Skudai campus was based on the concept of centralising the main activities of common interests around the mosque which is surrounded by other buildings within walking distance. This concept is in line with the university motto, "For God and Mankind".

All non citizen need to complete the Immigration Card (white Card) when we clear the customs.

The white card may be obtained at the customs counter. Just approach any of the staff at the counter and they will give youu a stack of white cards.

Do check that your white card and passport has been stamped.

If you have problem with filling up the immigration card, just pay the old man for this service.

    Money in JB
  • Tip Rating:
  • Malaysian money is called the Ringgit. It is valued at about 2.22 Ringgit to the Singapore Dollar. After exiting customs, and walking through the pedestrian underpass towards central JB, you will find a well-marked money exchange in a small shop on the main road. As you might expect, it is surrounded by taxis and cons, like sharks circling an injured swimmer...

This is one of the only money exchanges I saw, but there were a few ATMs in the waterfront area and the central market area.

JB is famous in S'pore as being very inexpensive, so it's a popular destination for a day-trip for shopping.
