Sting Ray is one of those meaty fish that we normally BBQ. The chilli sambal goes very well with sambal to cover the fishy taste. It cost about S$10 per dish in Singapore. We ate 3 seafood dishes and 1 vegetable which cost us RM100. The Ah Chun's Char Kuay Teow is the best I could find in the entire Johor Bahru. Char Kuay Teow in Penang style is everywhere in JB but to really get something good, you have to get to Perling's Kim Loong Restaurant (coffee shop actually) and order from the Ah Chun's Stall. Is only RM3 per serving. If you love cockles, for more, you pay an additional 50 sen.
They serve Penang Hokkien Mee too. Be there early if you wanna to eat the Hokkien Mee as it runs out very fast. You must have heard about the famous chilli crab in Singapore. How about trying some chilli crayfish? I love to eat the fried butter crayfish too. Crayfish are very meaty and much easier to eat as compared to crab. yummy yummy! In my opinion, the best curry puff in JB is from a stall outside a coffee shop in century under a big tree. The fillings is very fragrant with pieces of chicken and a slice of egg among the fragrant potato filling. The filling is a little bit spicy, a special delicacy in Malaysia. Imagine biting into the crispy skin with soft and warm filling inside... simply delicious and yummy...
The boss also sells other kuihs, both deep fried and steam. Nyonya kuihs are my favourites too. Try the soon kuih and ang-ku kuih too. These are all hand made and best of all, home made. They do catering for parties too... Leave a Comment Theme: LocalPrice: less than US$10 » Currency ConverterComparison: least expensivePhone: +60-7-2363669

For a fine Chinese dining experience, visit my favourite restaurant, Meisan. This restuarant is housed inside the Mutiara Hotel. It is usually very packed during the weekends. Hence, reservations strongly encouraged. This restaurant is Halal too.
I love the Szechuan Soup, Sharks' Fins Soup, Peking Duck and steam Sun Hock Fish.
