When you get to Pengerang, hopefully there will be some taxis waiting. To get to Desaru from Pengerang Ferry Terminal cost us RM 60. I'm not sure if this is average or not - I'd heard it was around RM 40 but I know prices in Singapore have been going up lately, so maybe in Malaysia too.....or perhaps we got the tourist price! But it was a 35-40 minute journey so RM 60 didn't seem excessive.
When we got to Desaru, the cab driver gave us her card and we called her and arranged for her to pick us up the following day. I think it was a good thing we did as the hotel at Desaru said there were only 2 local taxis there, so it might be wise to arrange pick up with the taxi driver you get at Pengarang. From Larkin Bus Interchange in Johor Bahru, take an Express Bus to Kota Tinggi Bus Interchange, traveltime is about 1 hour (depends on the traffic jams on the 3).

Okay, from Singapore:
Cross the border at woodlands checkpoint. From there, walk to the city-square mall in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. You can't miss it.
Walk past the mall (on the right side, seen from Singapore) untill you come across a bus-stop, also very easy to find.
Wait for bus number 41
The trip will cost you around 7 ringgit, and will take ( depending on traffic conditions ) about 1 - 1,5 hours.
Alight at the last busstop, also very easy, no worries about where to get out, it's just the last stop.
From there, take a taxi and tell the driver to take you to the waterfall, they know what you mean. This will cost you around 24 ringgit for a return.
You can tell the cabdriver to pick you up again at the waterfall after, for example, 2 hours. You should definitely stay longer than 1 hour, because swimming is so good and refreshing there! Leave a Comment Theme: Bus

You can go to Kota Tinggi Town by 3 main gateways:
From Johor Bahru, use the Johor Bharu - Kota Tinggi trunk road (45km).
From Mersing town, use Mersing - Kota Tinggi trunk road.
From the North South Expressway, exit at Pasir Gudang interchange (Exit 256).
Desaru: In Kota Tinggi town, take the 92 to the eastcoast for 57km.
Pengerang: In Kota Tinggi town, take the 92.
Kg.S.Rengit: In Kota Tinggi town, take the 92 to the southcoast. Theme: Car/Motor Home

1) You can take a cab to Johor Bahru from Queenstreet (near Bugis / opposite Sim Lim Tower). The cab ride costs S$7 per person. A minimum of 4 persons is needed before the cab will take you to Johor Bahru.
2) From Johor Bahru, you then take another cab directly to Kota Tinggi Town. The cab ride should cost about RM$55. Leave a Comment Theme: Other
