Explore Pantai Pasir Lanun
There are so many thing you can do: Activities include swimming, fishing, jungle trekking, birdwatching or just relax and laze around by the beach
When you are in Penyabong, take the opportunity to do the island hopping to Pulau Tunas, Pulau Semut, Pulau Acheh etc. or visit the 'Kelong' nearby…Ask the locals and they'll gladly help you out to find the boatman.
To Penyabong Beach
When you reached Penyabong either from Kuantan or Mersing you couldn't miss to see the jetty but NO BEACH…Turn right and go straight ahead and you'll begin to see the beach, another jetty and the resort.
Let's Go To Teluk Sari!
This is the perfect get away for nature lover and for those who want peace and tranquillity. This place used to be our favourite get away or should we say our hide away not because of the price but because of the ambience...Sadly not anymore!
There is a very nice place for swimming with clear and clean water called the Blue Lagoon. While swimming, you can see the freshwater fishes swimming next to you. A very beautiful place indeed.
Telok Sari Cafe: Dine At Telok Sari Cafe
We didn't dine here because we prefer the local warong…But just to give some tips for those who are unaccustomed to street vendors & hawker’s food.
local's warong: 'Goreng Pisang'
Try the 'Goreng Pisang' (banana fritters) they are not just cheap but also delicious. You can also find 'Kropok lekor' here.
'Goreng Pisang' and 'Kropok Lekor'... They Are Cheap & delicious!
'Warong Wati': Don't miss the local's food
There are several small food stalls (Warong) around Kg. Penyabong near the jetty but we prefer the stall opposite the mosque. The stall selling Malay food like nasi lemak, Malay kueh, roti canai (prata) etc. We like having breakfast together with the locals…You can gather...

Omnibus To Endau
You can take the Omnibus no 105 at Mersing Bus Terminal to Endau Town, but from Endau Town you have to hire a cab to Penyabong. Sadly we can't furnish you with more information on how to go to Penyabong from Endau Town but we will let you know in future if we get any info.
Colours & architecture
The wooden architecture of the kampung houses can be very colourful and beautifully designed to suit the tropical weather.
You will see some chicken walking around Kampung Peta village which is coomn. At night, the chickens actually sleep on the trees !
Be careful where you tread!!!
If you have to go out at night, be careful where you tread & watch out for snakes. Normally the snakes don't bother us if we leave them alone, and most of the time you can see them just lying in the middle of the road until they get hit by the passing vehicle. We always...
Be careful when you see this sign (accompanying photo) especially when you are driving in Kg. Penyabong, there are so many cows there…sometime they just lay around on the road. You hit them… you pay or else you might not be back in one piece!
Insects repellent, Medication For stings And Bite
Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Insects repellent, Medication For stings And Bite And Also Lime Paste.
Insects repellent for mosquitoes and also medication for stings and bite (in case you get stung by a jellyfish)
If you get bitten by the notorious small insects either mosquitoes or sand flies (A bite from sand flies is much more nastier and itchier than mosquitoes) even before you can apply the insects repellent or use your mosquitoes patch…
Don’t scratch because it will get worst and leave a nasty scar. Try applying the limestone paste instead (The Malays called it 'Kapur'). You can get it at any Indian's shop that sells betel leaves. We always bring it together with us and so far it work.
Miscellaneous: Maybe you should bring some snacks and bottle mineral water too because most of The warong will be closing early at night and the provision shop is very far away.

The school at Kampung Peta
If you look closely at Kampung Peta, there is a nice and spacious school located there for the children of the village. The school is located behind the holiday chalets near to the Endau River.

The second jetty at Kg. Penyabong
We like to sit at this jetty...A very good place to relax and also Fishing. Notice the black boat at the jetty? It is a military boat belong to the Malaysian Army that patrols the beach and the surrounding area incases illegal immigrants try to smuggle in, kind of making us...
Probably the busiest main street here is this one where I snap most of all the photos. Life here is slower than where I came from, most houses are still wooden of those days, good for us to snap.
