Alor Setar Flights

Alor Star is one of the major city in northern Malaysia, hence getting to Alor Star is not a problem at all. There a few ways you can get there i.e. by air, road, and rail. MAS and AirAsia run frequent flight service to Alor Star from KL (45mins), about toal of 3 to 4 flights daily. By car/bus, Alor Star well linked by the North South Highway and the Federal Route 1. It takes about 5 hours if you drive on the highway and bus takes about 6 hours. By train, Langkawi express is the training travelling north from KL, it will takes 8 hours, althought is a bit long compares to car or bus, the sceneray you get will be worth it.

Getting around town is a bit inconvinient. There are two bus station in this city. The main bus station which is located slightly outside the city near the Mergong Industrial Area is the main station where all the buses from outstation will stop and from there the local bus service will be available. The city bus service may not be the ideal way to travel around unless you really want to cut cost on your expenses.

There are regular air-conditioned express bus services from Kuala Lumpur's Puduraya bus station to Alor Star Shahab Perdana station,,
