The reason for all the Gotong Royong activities whole morning was the wedding of this couple. They deserve the best treatment for that day, because local call it "Raja Sehari". Meaning, he is the "King for the Day", one day only!!!!!
Correction, they entitle up to four times "Raja Sehari" (may be more!!) But at any one time 4 legal wives. The queen only "sehari".

Gotong Royong or community living is one of the most unique thing in small villages. Everyone seems to know & interact well with each others.
Function such as wedding, child birth, funeral, and other form of celebration will normally accept gift offering & helps. I was totally amazed by such willing sacrifice by these humble peoples.

Bok also does his bit to help in Gotong Royong. In fact I was such a hit for being the only Chinese in the celebration & willing to help in Gotong Royong.
I was helping in building some makeshift “chairs” for the celebration.

This tree bears fruits that tasted like loaf of bread. You ought to remove the green outer layer & slice the milky white contents into slices & fried it in cooking oil after coated with some flours.

It is no joke to prepare for the wedding lunch & dinner without helping hands from these aunties. They are help preparing ingredients for the dishes & some of them will even contribute cooking oils, cooking utensils, and etc.

It's the custom for differential gender in states like Kedah, Kelantan & Terengganu. Parents are especially strict with their daughters until they are married.
Ideally, boys and girls are not suppose to opening goes dating until they are of age and parents (especially female side) are approve of the boys. Of course the younger generations are not too use to this, but will respect their old folks by not overdone what they seen in the TV/movies.

All females whether young and old, they will be sitting on the other side. In fact the serving area was obscure from the guys' view. When I was help in serving foods (gotong-royong styles), those aunties were busy checking me out on behalf of some younger village girls.
They almost worshipped me when they found out I am from capital city & a computer systems engineer by profession.

Favorite thing: Chicken are generally kept in the cage to avoid road kills, destroy of padi plants & finally dispute of whose chicken was that kind of arguments.
Which is the main reason? I don't know!!!

Favorite thing: Pinang tree is one of the palm species. The ripen Pinang fruit will be use as one of the ingredient for Sirih, one of the villagers pass time. The fruit will be ripped open will a Kacip (cutter specially designed to cut Pinang, looks like a nut crusher but with shaper blade), and the content will be use as mixture for Sirih.
The fruit will let out some spicy taste & may cause drunken kind of sensation to those who taste it for the first time.
My tougue turned numb for awhile after the first sirih!!
Ingredient of Sirih:
- Sirih leaves,
- Pinang slices
- Chalk (some edible calcium)

Favorite thing: These padi plants had just being transplant from the nursery in order to secure high successful rate of yielding & also to avoid over crowded of plants.

These kids just line up for Photographic session, I didn't ask them to. Notice they actually arrange & form a line of shorter kids to the tallest.
