5 minutes before the jetty to pulau dayang bunting, there is a small cove where bats converge and your speed boat would take you there to see the bats for an additional 2 ringgit per person and you will stop there for about 2 minutes so that you can take pictures and videos of the bats before proceeding to the jett to the main island and to tasik...

after the flight of stairs at the lake and upon entering the floating pontoons in the lake, you will see at your right side the only store in the lakeside that doubles as a general store that sells souvenir items, snack foods and bottled water and other drinks (but no alcohol) and also operates the solar powered paddling boats for rent for tourists like us.

expect the prices of the food and drinks and souvenir items to be a little bit higher than in the langkawi mainland (but not too much!)

Favorite Dish: several local snack foods and international brand snack foods, bottled water for 3 ringgit, isotonic drinks and softdrinks at 4 ringgit, fruit juices at 4 ringgit, etc.

  • Concrete Boat Jetty

there is a small concrete and long jetty in Pulau Dayang Bunting where the various big spped boats for the big group tour unload their passengers alternately via the concrete steps (be careful when going to or from the boats as there are no handrails for support, plus the boats are rocking due to the waves) and they just lie there beside the jetty...

the hike from the boat jetty to the main lake of Pulau Dayang Bunting for a fit person will easily take 10 to 15 minutes, but for the not fit person (poeple with hypertension, diabetes, asthma, etc) it might take 30 minutes or more as the concrete foothpath is over a steep hill going up and then rapid and steep concrete stairs going down the lake (and vice versa, when returning) and you might have medical attacks or panting, so be sure to bring your medications just in case anything happens.
