Local Snacks - RM1 for 3!!! yummy! by backpackerbaby There is a fixed place for night market on each night. Please check with the locals for the exact location. I visited the night market at Bohor. That's the moment at which I saw the largest amount of local people and kids. It seemed a big event for them, all adults holding the hands of their kids scattered over the market, buying food (raw fish/seafood, satay, meat, cooked food...etc), clothes, toys, fruit... A great chance to experience a local's life.
Casual, as nobody cares. Leave a Comment Theme: OtherDirections: 1 night market at a place each night, check carefully before you go.

by Imbi I believe that it is the best place for night life in Langkawi. There are few restaurants and pubs around there area. Streets are relatively busy and you could find internet café and money changing office here as well. there was a public call office as well and I noticed that all the overseas calls were relatively cheap. Because most of the other bars were pretty dead and the Raggae bar had closed down, i found Oasis a pretty decent bar with lovely cocktails, good music, friendly people and nice atmosphere right by the beach in Pantai Cenang.
Its a beach bar!...anything more than casual and you'll look overdressed ! Leave a Comment Theme: NightclubAddress: Pantai CenangDirections: Located right between the Underwater World and Sunset Beach Resort !

Reggae Bar by Designerartgirl The Reggae Bar is full of people and is especially good when the band plays. The Band is a band which plays all sorts of UB40 songs and some from Bob Marley, keeping with the Reggae feel of the place. All around the walls you can see the grafity of previous visitors who have left their mark on the place.
Wear what you want, although many wear just a simple sarong with a tshirt...(shoes are not a good idea as you're on the beach) Leave a Comment Theme: Live MusicAddress: Pantai Cenang (said like Pan - thai... Chen -ang)Directions: Langkawi Island!!

by jenniferchin This was the bar I went to many years ago, when I was there with my girlfriends. The drinks there were superb !! The company we kept there were also highly entertaining ;-) Sadly, when I was there in 2002, it looked like its been closed for a while. Oh well. Cest la vie !

SunBar by mary2u99 The waiters here dress in sarongs. If you plan to order drinks do order the beers or wine. Cocktails are diluted so if you plan on ordering it make sure its a double shots. There is pipe in music and a pool table here.
No suits or ties allowed. So dress in casual and shorts. Leave a Comment Theme: NightclubAddress: Pantai Tengah

Drinking beer under the stars @ Cenang Beach by bpacker Since there's nothing much to do at night, you can either have a thick milky teh tarik ( milk tea ) at any make-shift stalls around the island or drink the tax-free beer at any beer garden. Imported German cost about US$1 and local beer cost around US$0.50 ! Lots of restaurants @Pantai Cenang beach have "beer gardens" so you can drink your beer al fresco. drinking tea at 12am by bpacker Have you tried drinking teh tarik ? It's a fragrant milky tea that is lightly scented with rose syrup. Delicious! Found lots of makeshift stalls at the beach opp City Bayview Hotel that sells this tea. They open till late at night so it's ok to go there after a late night drive cruise around Langkawi. by hundertmorgen For nightlife, the Reggae bar on Pantai Cenang is the best bet. Enjoy the laid back atmosphere here, where patrons can cool off and enjoy the great reggae beat. And they had this great food! (watch the picture)
definitely not, because directely on the beach! Leave a Comment Theme: OtherDirections: Pantai Cenang
