Photo Equipment: Bring enough memory cards as there are lot of beautiful things to capture specially if you are into photography.
Miscellaneous: There is a Microwave Oven in the Holiday Villa. You can bring your own ingredients to make your own coffee.

Luggage and bags: As Langkawi is a duty free island, you may want to bring extra bags with you because by bringing just a bag, you may ended to bring home another 1 or 2 bags. If you do not want to carry extra bag during your arrival, you may buy bags in Langkawi as bag is also a cheap item in Langkawi.
For a backpacker, bring a big backpack to accomodates souvenirs or duty free items to bring home.
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: 1) Shorts
2) Sandal or Slippers
3) Bikini or swimming trunk for swimming or sunbathing
4) T-Shirt
5) Adventured Boots or Hiking Shoes
6) Goggles for swimming
7) Sunglasses
8) Jeans or Khakis
9) Hat / Cap to protect from rain or sunlight
10) A lightweight waterproof windbreaker
Toiletries and Medical Supplies: 1) Mosquito Repellent (in case there are mosquitos)

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Remember to bring hats! The sun is very hot!
Toiletries and Medical Supplies: I find that the medicated talcum that i brought along very useful for my kids.
1) I think it help a little, sort of like a insect repellant
2) It will ease any irritation from heat or sweat
And moisturiser and body lotion.
Photo Equipment: Batteries are quite expensive.
The prices diffierent in different location. Do compare at least 2 shops b4 u buy.
We found out the batteries cost more from the shop beside the cable car, while in a different shop further away they were cheaper! Both shops are located in the same area - Oriental Village.

Luggage and bags: I always travel light. I took bikini x 2, swimsuit, beach skirt, 2 tops and the clothes on the trip, which were white linen trousers a white shirt and cotton cardigan. light tennis shoes on the trip and flat sandals x 1. I tought I was going to need the tennis to do all the walking around but nope, the sandals did the trick. Anyway travelling so light meant I needed to go shopping... lol
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Cothes are very cheap in Malaysia, but expect to pay same prices for branded names like Guess, Armani, etc.
Toiletries and Medical Supplies: I always carry mosquito repellent, imodium and aloe vera gel, of which I always and only use the latter. If you need any specific medication take it with you.
Photo Equipment: cameras, camcorder, memory cards mp3 players and other electrical goods can very cheaply be bought in Langkawi so if you are unsure what to buy here do not dispair, wait and you will find it there.

Luggage and bags: Bring what ever you wish. It depends on whether you are staying for a week-end or a few months. Maybe you should bring an empty bag and stock up while you are here.
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Langkawi is a very casual island so you won't need any dressy clothes. Cotton is best because it does get warm here even with the ocean breeze. Capris, shorts, shirts, long trousers, hat, swim attire and cover-ups. Don't forget the sandals and a pair of comfy walking shoes. Please only wear your swim attire while at the beach.
Toiletries and Medical Supplies: There are several shops but if you have a favoite brand it is best to bring it from home.
Photo Equipment: Bring it with you although it is duty free shopping here.
Miscellaneous: Don't forget to apply the sunscreen.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Prepare a sunglass, cap, sandal & Singlet or Sleeveless T-shirt. The weather is hot & humid, don't ever try to wear like a business man. There is no business for you in Langkawi but only fun. Wear as sunny as possible!

Miscellaneous: If you are not intend to stay in the 5-stars hotels, be prepared to fight with the mosquito after dusk. They are fierce and try any chance to suck the blood out from you. Even the resort we stayed did provide us the mosquito repellent, we still can feel some "brave" mosquito flying around to attack us.

Miscellaneous: Though it is always good to be prepared, but I hardly find a good Langkawi Tourist Map from Internet. It is either too small, low resolution or not suitable for tourist. The best place you can get a good tourist map is from the airport, car rental or hotel resort you will stay. Those maps are quite informative with all the tourists destination, shopping area and restaurants & main roads. Get a good map is essential and first thing you will want to do when you step into the island, as you probably will rent a car to explore the island.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Weather: tropical with occasional showers. It can get really hot during the day around 30-34 degrees.
You don't really need jumper unless its rain..so just be on the safe side.
Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Insect repellant. Medications available from town pharmacy or small kiosk at most beaches.
Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: If you love camping..yeah..why not bring your camp gear along.

Luggage and bags: If you wish to travel to Langkawi by the regional budget airlines Air Asia, make sure you dont carry heavy luggage. They dont allow to check in more than 15 kg per person. Hand Baggage allowance is same as other airlines-7 Kg
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Being a warm and humid place, light clothings -those which can easily dry up are preferable for this place. For going around the islands and island hopping, avoid shoes. Chinos would be ideal.
Toiletries and Medical Supplies: A lot of people had adviced us to carry mosquito repellants, but we didnt come across mosquitoes in the hotel rooms. Sometimes during a jungle trek or while going to waterfalls, we did encounter few mosquitoes, but that's normal. Patches would be sufficient for this.
Photo Equipment: Memory sticks, SD Cards, spare rechargable batteries for the camera is a must. There are internet kiosks all over the island but they may or may not have CD Writing solutions to copy the images from your Camera Memory sticks, SD Cards to the CD
Miscellaneous: Carry your driving License if you plant to rent a car
