This small unassuming restaurant in the Pantai Cenang area serves some of the best Indian food I have ever tasted.
There restaurant only has maybe half a dozen tables and you get served on a first come forst served basis regardless of whether you have booked for a specific time. We waited about three quarters of an hour after ordering before our food came but it was worth the wait.
They only serve beer and soft drinks here so if you want wine you have to "bring your own".and they will amke a small corkage charge of around 15 RM. We thought that was per bottle but we opened 2 and did not get charged any extra.
Favorite Dish: The butter chicken and the lamb rogan josh were my favourites.
Excellent Service, lovely surroundings and of course one can sit outside on a terrace, tasty food at reasonable prices taking in mind that this is a 4-star hotel. Really good value, i.e. for food, atmosphere and service!
The Bon Ton is perhaps the best restaurant in Langkawi. It's part of the Bon Ton Resort, a small but charming resort situated a 5 minute from Pantai Cenang and a 10 minute from the Langkawi airport.
The restaurant is awsome, we had dinner outside in a delightful setting. The food was amazing, very well presented and excellent! The desserts were to die for also. It's not cheap but it was well worth every cent. It was the best meal I had during my stay in Malaysia.
If you plan to go there I advise to book a table as the restaurant is very well known and has very good feedback and it's not large.
Favorite Dish: The Steamed Apple, Macadamia and Butterscotch Pudding dessert. It's delicious!
This place is so relaxed you feel right at home. The surroundings are comfortable and very laid back. The owner Mr Ba is great and will always make you feel like an old friend. The restaurant sells all forms of Asian food.......chicken rice, chilli crab, too many to list.
Favorite Dish: All the dishes are our favourites. We couldnt choose between one so go ..and enjoy them all. and dont forget to go there for breakfast...... and say hi to Vivi.she is the best waitress there .always with a smile and a laugh first thing in the morning
Rasa restaurant is situated right in the centre of Pantain Cenang area. It serves a variety of good Malaysian food.
There is no alcohol at all here not even beer-but as with Little India you can visit a local supermarket and bring your own
Favorite Dish: The satay and the nasi goreng were great!
We came across this little restaurant while driving around... it was quite by accident really.but looked nice adn friendly so sat and had a meal while we watched the ocean... so relaxed adn quiert ..we really didnt want to leave....
When we got back to the hotel we were telling the concierge where we had been he said "oh yes .did you know they filmed a James Bond movie there? The one where the girls is walkign out of the sea.... " and do you know I got photos of it....:)
Seafood cost 5RM per 100g
Favorite Dish: their speciality is seafood so of course I will tell you to go for the seafood.
This is a totally unique restaurant in the middle of a Mangrove swamp.
We arrived at this restaurant by boat but if you arrive by road you have to be prepared for the 400 metre walk though the Mangrove swamp. On your way to the restaurant you can stop to look at the mangrove wildlife and birds. Being in the mangrove swamp you are likely to be plagued with the many mosquitos which buzz annoyingly around, but a good mosi spray should help.
The restaurant itself is lofty and built mainly from teak wood so teaditionally Thai.
If you visit in the evenings you may be entertained with jazz music.
Favorite Dish: Although we had a set lunch on our particular tour-we did have an additional Thai green chicken curry-wonderful!!
Set deep within the mangroves of Langkawi, the restaurant is accessible only by a 450 metre wooden walkway with gazebos and seats along the walkway for photo opps or to observe the natural wonders and wildlife. You can also take a tour through the mangroves by boat.
Great ambience, very romantic and mysterious. At low tide, the roots of the trees are exposed and sometimes they resemble those tree-like Ent characters out of Lord of The Rings!
Favorite Dish: Admittedly, the food is just okay, not brilliant. But the setting is great.
I don't recommend the Seafood & Glassnoodle Salad but I had some prawn rolls which were quite nice.
Amaizing seafood dishes. It's a fish farm located on the water in the jungles! Only fresh fish, cooked in best way ever! Never tried something like that! And don't miss that lovely Ray fish! You wont belive it, you can feed it from your own hands!
Favorite Dish: The fish named...don't really remember.
Situated along Trimula in Kuah town, this restaurant looks simple and yet its a small setup indeed making this restaurant being unvisible than other big chinesse seafood restaurant along the area. But believe it or not, many local Langkawian love to go to this restaurant because of the quality of the dishes and the tasteful touch of the chef. Not only loves by the Chineese but Malay also loves to dine here in Wonderland Restaurant.
The waiters are friendly and if you are happens to visit this restaurant, ask them to suggest of what menu to order according to our appetite.
Its an open air restaurant with minimum sitting capicity.
Why I put this on my restaurant tips? The taste of course. Tom Yum (Soup) offered here is must a try.
Favorite Dish: Mantis Prawn & Tom Yum (Chinesse Style)
Simple and cozy set up . The people here are friendly , and the most important is the food is very cheap and good . The spicy taste of chicken tomyam MMmm. Slurp ! Try the tomyam ( my wife like it , she said it is spicy and sour enough )
Favorite Dish: Me and my wife had tomyam chicken , fried bee hoon and a plate of fried rice , not to forget 3 glass of drink , guess what less than Rm20. Is that Cheap & Good enough ?!?!
At first, we thought it's an expensive restaurant (open-air). Its setting gave us this feeling. Then we read the menu. The prices of dishes varied, according to the type of food you ordered (more expensive for seafood, of course), ranging from RM2.5 to RM6 per dish. With the explanation of the patient watier, we ordered several dishes. It's really a great dinner and the food was so yummy!!! I really miss it!
Favorite Dish: We ordered:
- fish masala
- chicken tandoori
- beef masala
- fried squid
- mixed vegetables
- cheese naan
- brown rice
- mixed juice
All tasted great!!!! esp. the fish, the beef, the cheese naan and mixed juice!
The whole table of food costed us around RM35! What a great dinner!
As recommended by a local magazine, we had our 4th dinner at Orkid Ria - a seafood restaurant run by Chinese. According to our observation, the restaurant was very popular with tourists, not only Chinese but also foreigners. Some people were waiting for tables when we were having dinner. It's advisable to reserve a table.
Favorite Dish: We ordered:
- tiger prawns in special sauce
- sea cucumber with mixed vegetables
- abalone clams
- fried kankung (vegetables) in Malay style
- Indian fried noodles
- apple juice (green apples!) and orange juice (totally 4 glasses)
All the dishes were yummy esp. the prawn and the noodles. The dinner costed us around RM110.
Barn Thai is built in the heart of a mangroove swamp. Gotta walk approximately 500 metres of a wooden walkway to reach the restaurant. A wonderful experience especially at night. Rather peacuful adn mystically. And, sitting right amidst the mangroove swamp, Barn Thai seems rather unreal. To me, its quite a heavenly surrounding. But, food wasn't that good and rather costly. Anyway, it's worth a go. It's a memorable experience. And, free transportation is available to chauffer you from your lodging to Barn Thai. But call a day earlier.
This cafe is set inside the Mutiara Resort. If you are staying at the Berjaya Langkawi, you can reach it by walking along the beach.
You can have your drinks and see the great sunset along Pantai Kok at this cafe.
The food is more expensive than average, but provides a nice ambience.
The cafe has a live band (except Tuesdays).
Shuttle service is provided for guests from Berjaya Langkawi after 10pm.
Favorite Dish: - Mexicana Pizza (8 big slices, about RM29)
- Beef Ribs (about RM41)
- Shandy (beer, mixed with soft drink) (about RM7)
