The cable car ride up to the top of Mt Mat Chincang is rather scary... At some point, it would appear that the cable cars are also not moving as the ride to the first pylon is so steep... However, visitors will be rewarded for the fantastic views, both from the cable car as well as at the escarpment at the end of the ride... Along the 2km ride, one can view the vast forest canopy as well as the Seven Wells Waterfall... From the peak at 713m high, visitors will have a view of both the mountain and the sea... The winds at the peak can be quite strong...
The cable car operating hours are 10.00am to 6.00pm (Mondays to Thursdays) and 10.00am to 7.00pm (Fridays to Sundays and Public Holidays)... As the operations depend on the weather, it would be wise to telephone ahead of your visit...

On the northern side of Langkawi close to Tanjung Rhu, you can visit Durian Waterfalls. There is a pathway leading you to the waterfall and in 10 minutes you will be up. It is really peaceful near the waterfall and you can rest or get into the water for cooling down.

Before or after you go up the cable car, you can have a stroll in Oriental Village for some shopping and some food. This concept village combines shopping and dining together and attracts families before or after their visit to the cable car. There is a fish pool in the middle and some animals and birds are exhibited in the small zoo. You can also see and take pictures with eagles near the entrance.
