Exciting and nice drive up Kedah Peak
From the old main trunk road between Sungai Petani and Alor Setar, you can see the sign to Kedah Peak (Gunung Jerai) at Gurun town. Ask the locals if you get lost as we did.It is a safe 15 kilometres drive with a slope that every standard car can handle. Takes about 25 minutes of leisurely drive up to the top of Kedah Peak. The road is wide with two lanes but there are about 10 sharp upward turns which is no problem if you drive slow.Wind down the windows as the air from the forested hill is refreshing. At the top is the Gunung Jerai Resort hotel with chalets and rooms, The elevation at the top is 1,200 m.
