Honk liberally on the way up Kedah Peak
At several sections on the road up Kedah Peak (Gunung Jerai) 1,200m elevation, there are blind corners or hairpin turns or narrow one car stretch where there will be a sign to honk your car horn. Use it liberally to alert especially cars coming down when you are going up. We were surprised at the speed of three cars trying to outdo each other on their way down when we were driving up. Apparently the drivers must be regulars as they seem to know the turnings and slopes of the road well.Also look out for fallen trees or rocks especially after the rain. If unsure, just follow another car at a safe distance behind. But this is a wonderful time to test the horn of your car in the middle of a jungle road up the hill.
