Dining in restaurants? No way! Try out these rice, which can be found in most malay stalls - Nasi Dagang, Nasi Briyani and Nasi Kerabu - all cooked with different spices that give different color in presentation and different taste and fragrance.Go to Medan Selera Buluh Kubu (which is somewhere around the handicraft center Bazaar Buluh Kubu) near the night market. There sells many interesting malay deserts made only in Kelantan. The major ingredient is sugar, sugar and sugar!

Next to Bus Station: Cheap Dinner

There is a huge night market next to the bus station in Kota Bharu. Here you can get a huge variety of local Kelantanese food at very cheap prices. Be sure to try the nasi kerabu which is rice dyed with flower extract to make it colorful. It comes in blue, red or pink. Take it with dishes like chicken rendang or grilled chicken. Try the local Malay kuehs here. This is the best place to savor local Malay delights and soak up to the atmosphere of a Kelantanese night market. The entire place is bustling and is a hive of activity throughout the night. Come here to experience Kelantan live! Nasi kerabu.
