Most visitors to Masjid Tanah misunderstood that this is the clay mosque that is associated with the town's name. Actually the clay mosque is no longer in existence - it has been demolished in 1830.
The existing mosque was build on bricks at the site where the clay mosque used to be before. Even the site of the mosque is also open for dispute as there's claim that the actual site of the clay mosque is a few metre away here.
Unique Suggestions: You could explore the architecture of the mosque which was built in a typical Melakan style mosque at the turn of the 20th century.
