Located midway between Alor Gajah and the city of Melaka on the old trunk road, the traditional Melakan house "Rumah Haji Ahmad" is a must visit if you happened to pass through Kg Paya Rumput.
The house was built in the early 1900s in a truely traditional Melakan house style by a former headman of the kampung. Just like any other traditional Melakan kampung houses, its most prominet feature is definitely its staircase that decorated nicely with old fashion marbles. The house was also featured in various advertisement, including one by Tourism Malaysia promoting Melaka.
Unfortunately, the house has been ear marked for demolition for a road widening project, visit it now while you can!

The Rumah Haji Ahmad has been demolished - now it is no longer a must visit in Kg Paya Rumput.
