Olio Restaurant: Ramada Plaza Hotel
On our first visit to Melaka we stayed at this hotel. It was then the Marriot Renaissance. It had one of the best pools we have ever experienced.
This time we did not stay here, but decided to visit for dinner. There was an international buffet in the restaurant downstairs. On the first floor there was a Chinese and the Olio Italian Restaurant. We ate in the Olio.
By Melaka standards it is quite expensive, but it was on a par with where we ate in Kuala Lumpur price wise.
My husband opted for pizza, I had a chicken dish. We were given bread and dips as a starter.
The food was tasty; the service was friendly and attentive. The surroundings were lovely.
They had a promotion on their wine, but we stuck to beer.

Shakey's Pizza: Thinking of Eating Pizza?
In Melaka, there are few pizza outlets that operates adopting to the fast food concept. The major pizza outlet here is Pizza Hut and Shakey's Pizza.
As for myself, I rated Shakeys is better than Pizza Hut but it is all depend on individual taste and expectation. Nevertheless, overall I prefer the taste of Dominos Pizza but the outlet is not available here in Melaka.
There are 2 major outlets of Shakeys here in Melaka. 1 is situated inside Mahkota Parade Mall and another 1 is inside the TESCO Hypermarket.
This tip is for those traveller that really miss eating pizza and wanted to bring family for a nice simple delicious meal.

Coconut House: Way too expensive for the food
Good delicious food, but totally not worth the price. We paid about RM15 each for our meal (and that's 4 person sharing 2 pizzas and 1 spagetti and 4 drinks) and it felt like an appetizer. Not filling at all, and in the end we grabbed some satay celup at the night market which cost us RM6 for a filling, satisfying dinner.

Coconut House: Suprisingly Good Pizza
They make a variety of individual-sized pizzas, in case you're craving a little 'back-home' cuisine.
One word of caution: The oven is small and they only bake one pizza at a time. So if there is a large group already sitting down and looking like they've been waiting for a while, either be prepared to wait a loooong time, or come back another time. I'm talking from experience!
