Clogs on sale! by chatterley Jonker Street is so much more fun to shop at (although there is no air-con comfort and you have to brave the sweltering humidity and heat), compared to the big shopping mall complex...you should know which one I'm referring to. You can find a huge variety of things to buy here, from exquisite Peranakan beaded shoes, Aik Cheong coffee and mee sua noodles; to clogs (see my picture), fridge magnets and T-shirts. by Svitata On weekends, there will be street which will be closed to traffic and all the shop vendors and street vendors will come out with their wares, knick-knacks and local food to thronging crowds. Leave a Comment Theme: Other

Jusco Ayer Keroh by yipsufen This is a shopping mall with Jusco as an anchor tenant. Singaporeans like to cross the causeway over the weekends and stock up some groceries and household items here as they are cheaper comparatively. You need to pay parking fees eventhough you are parking outside of Jusco's compounds. Leave a Comment Theme: Department Store

Good Food & Shopping by Aidy_p Mahkota Parade was the pride of Melaka in the 90s. I remembered that I was awed by the size of the mall when I was there more than 10 years ago. But when I was there recently, the shopping mall seemed as if it was living on its past glory. Spoilt doors were not fixed, leakages were not mended. It did not look like the owners were not ready to put in more money to spruce up the shopping mall. Maybe they realised that they will not be able to compete with the newly opened Dataran Pahlawan Mall, Tesco, and Carrefour. Still, the shopping mall offers visitors with a wide variety of food, fun and shopping. This two-storey shopping mall also comes with a cinema for tourists who want to catch the latest movie at a snip. Theme: OtherAddress: 1 Jalan Merdeka, Bandar HilirPhone: +606 282 6151

mhkota plaza with hotel behind it by cochinjew A large collection of stores selling food and drink, home furnishings, shoes, clothing, cds and dvds at cheap prices, bags among other things. Air conditioned, so it is a respite from the heat outside... Leave a Comment Theme: Department StoreDirections: It can be seen from the hill and is adjacent to Mahkota Hotel and Medical Centre. The No 17 bus goes by it.

by Audrey118 There are very many similar shops along the jonker street as well as along Hereen St (Tun Tan Cheng Lock) and now it is slowly spreading to the smaller streets along J Tokong etc. Many of these prewar old houses r in bad shape, and having entreprenuers taking over it, at least helps to preserve its old time peak. Just imagine the wealth that these houses once had.... worthnoting is the extremely long houses, some more than 200 feet deep inside...venture to one...it is just amazing.... Small unique souvenirs by martin_nl Malaqa House is situated in Jln Tung Tan Cheng Lock. A street lined with small unique shops and galleries. At Malaqa House you will find a combination of antiques, a gallery and a shop. It is great to look around here and admire all the small souvenirs. They aren't your typical souvenirs where you can buy a miniature of the Petronas Twin Towers, or flags of Malaysia, but more unique souvenirs. Some are handmade. The prices aren't exactly cheap, but what you see is all beautiful! Leave a Comment Theme: AntiquesAddress: 70 Jln Tung Tan Cheng Lock

by Applelyn This is an art studio by Charles Cham,, a true-blood Malaccan. I was attracted by the exterior of the building. Admiration for him continued when I looked through his works in the studio. They are unique and brought out life from another angle. I wanted to buy the "Chicken Rice" T-shirt but I didnt because I didnt try the chicken rice there :(
His T-shirts with loud designs.

by makiro The Orangutan House was set up in 1992 as the studio-gallery of Charles Cham after his return from France. It was one of the first artist studios in Malacca. With its unique façade, it is now a landmark and a must-see for all art lovers and tourists to Malacca.
They have the best gift tshirts there...unlike anything you will find in a tourist shop. I got some great Year of the Dog shirts.
Shirts were about $10 as I remember.

Sa-Kei-Ma by chatterley My favourite snack since young! The main ingredient is eggs, plus sugar, wheat flour, glucose and vegetable oil. It has a nice aromatic flavour of eggs....I had to buy more packets as my family loves them too.
I paid 5.50 Ringgit for each 250g pack. Leave a Comment Theme: Food and Drink
