How's this for an authentic way of getting around Melaka? Bullock cart rides can be found just outside the Museum of Aborigines on the Ayer Keroh Road, opposite the zoo.
The easiest way to get here is to take a aircon express bus from Puduraya Station in KL.
The express bus station in Melaka is about half a kilometer north of the historic city centre.

The best thing about Malacca is that the most of its touristy sites are nearby. So, stay somewhere central in town and WALK. :-)
