Even though I already had dinner, the sight of the colourfuls dimsum and the wonderful smells are really tempting. You can't miss this stall along the Jonker Walk. Steaming hot dim sum. Pick your own choices. At RM1.50 for 4 pieces. this is a steal!

Bibik House: Pineapple Tart

by runwitme

Freshly baked pineapple tarts sold here along with other Melaka traditonal produce. Pineapple TartAt RM10 per box, these tarts better be good! Heheh!True enough, they better than good. They are great! Buttery crumbly shells and soft chewy centre. A wonderful delight that goes well with a cuppa tea.

Fried Ice Cream Stall @ Jonker Walk: Hot and Cold Delight

by runwitme

It is quite easy to locate this stall at Jonker Street. Just look for the FRIED EGG ICE CREAM sign. Fried Ice CreamA delight to the taste buds. Warm on the outside. Smooth and cool on the inside. The icecream is actually covered in a egg wrap. Then quickly dipped into the boiling oil. Hot enough to brown the outer layer while leaving the icecream center frozen.Love it!

Long Fong Ge: Nyonya Laksa

by runwitme

A small eatery along the famous Jonker Walk. Serves local food like Wantan noodles and laksa. Nyonya Laksa - noodle in rich coconut based curry. Served piping hot with fish balls, slice of egg and some other condiments. They serves Cendol with two unique variation - one with durian, and the other, mango. I ordered the Cendol with Durian - shaken ice, mixed with coconut milk, dark pam sugar, green noodles, red bean and topped with a dollop of durian cream.Yummy!

Kedai Kopi Chung Wah: 5 Balls per Serving

by runwitme

A very popular place for tourists!Getting a table at this restaurant at lunch hour on a Sunday is HELL! You have to be like a vulture, standing closeby to your "pray" or target table. You watch them eat, hopefully they can finish their meal faster so that you can occupy their seats. At the same time time you have to defend your territory from other "vulture" who try to steal your table. Not really a nice experience but everybody have to do that in order to get a table. So there! Chicken Rice Balls. The rice is shaped into balls (golf balls size). This dish was said to be prepared for the convenience of farmers long long time ago. It is easier to eat in the ball form. There are 5 balls per serving. The balls are compact. At this restaurant, you can cut the rice ball into halves without it crumbling! A feat cannot be replicated by many Chicken Rice ball sellers out there. The chicken in light...

Moon Luck/ Patty Moon: Chee Cheong Fun

by imstress

Everytime I come to Melaka, I will not give my favourite Chee Cheong Fun (RM2) a miss.I could eat a few plates of the Chee Cheong Fun and never get tired of it.Just after my fall, I could still go there happily with bkoon to reserve seats and waited for the rest to come. The Hong Kong Style Chee Cheong Fun is made on the spot with fresh ingridents.I love the char siew ones as it gives a salty taste to the plain flour. The sauce that goes with it is so tasty. Fried onions are sprinkled on top of the it along with delicious grinded shrimp powder.Other than Chee Cheong Fun, the char kway teow, staty cehlop, wanton mee, satay samabal stingray are all worth a try.

Aunty Lee: Aunty Lee Nonya Food

by imstress

Aunty Lee is a small home cooked Nonya food restaurant. This restaurant have less than 10 tables and advance reservation must be made.We ordered Assam Fish, Fried Chicken, Nonya Chup Chai and Duck & Salted Vegetable soup which only cost RM61.You must try their Chendol which is RM2.50 a bowl. This is one of the best Chendol we have tried in Melaka. It is comparable to Jonker St 88. every dishes is good

Stall 69 Only You: Stall 69

by imstress

If you dont like too sweet cendol then you could head over to Stall 69 for their cendol. There is no long queues and people waiting for you to finish your food so that they can have your seats. You could chit chat with your friends while enjoying your bowl of cendol or mango ice.The deco is simple with a bird's nest near the entrance. You could get some seats which uses the old sewing machines as the table top.See how your bowl of cendol is make and the ice machine shaving the ice right in front of your eyes.

Stall 88 Jonker Street: Stall 88 Jonker Street

by imstress

There is a debate over whether Stall 69 or Stall 88 serve the best cendol.I also discovered Stall 1 cendol, which bkoon thinks is the best.Must give it a try the next time.Verdict: Personally I prefer Stall 88 cendol over Stall 69 cendol. Reason being the Stall 88 is generous with their brown sugar syrup (gula malacca). You get to eat your cendol in a nice nostalgic environment among those antiques. You also get to order other dishes like the assam laksa or the nonya laksa. cendolassam laksa
