There are lots of shops on the tiny streets and you can amaze yourself with the selection of lampshades, sarongs, wooden artifacts (coasters, decorative items etc), musical instruments, early chinese paraphernalia and anything tht you couldnt think they'd have.
What to buy: I especially enjoyed looking at the hundreds of localy made sandals (for women) and fancy art work on the types of shoes available.
Also matching bags :)
And cushion covers, and well just abt anything.
What to pay: Things are very reasonably priced. I paid less than RM30 (US$12) for a nice handsome drum.

This local shop at the main Pulau Sebang/Tampin street sells hand-painted ceramic vases, in beige and dark copper colour.
Large and small sizes. Quite a good variety.
What to buy: These items may be found throughout the country and not just in Negeri Melaka, so this is not unique. However, for the die-hard shopper who must buy something on their travels, this shop wasn't too bad for its variety.
What to pay: RM20-50 for a small to medium sized vase.
