Favorite thing: Who was this Fraser, giving name to the hill top?
His name was Louis James Fraser. He was a Scottish tin-ore trader in the 1890s. During an expedition in 1900 he disappeared, never to be found again and no traces left after him.

Favorite thing: My fondest memory of Fraser's Hill? Why sipping strawberry tea in the middle of the greenhouse. A close second would be having Devonshire Cream Tea at Ye Olde Smokehouse while looking at a Silver-eared Mesia on a bush.

Favorite thing: From Kuala Lumpur and South
If you are traveling from the South or Kuala Lumpur, take the North-South Highway and exit at the Rawang Interchange (about 20-25 min, from Kuala Lumpur or Subang Interchange). From Rawang, enter the trunk road towards North. You will pass smaller towns like Serendah, Ulu Yam village and Rasa village in Batang Kali district. Immediately after Rasa (about 1 km), look out for signage which says Bukit Fraser (Fraser's Hill) or Kuala Kubu Bahru and turn right following signage directions. The journey from Rawang to Kuala Kubu Bahru (foot of Fraser's Hill) takes about 30-35 minutes.
From Penang and North
If you are traveling from the North, enter the North-South Highway and exit at the Tanjong Malim Interchange. Take the trunk road towards South and look out for signage indicating Kuala Kubu Bahru or Bukit Fraser (Fraser's Hill). Turn left into Kuala Kubu Bahru which is the last stop at the foot of Fraser's Hill.
From Kuala Kubu Bahru towards Fraser's Hill
From Kuala Kubu Bahru, drive easterly following a winding road up to the Gap (21 km about 35-45 minutes).

Favorite thing: For Malaysians, this is a getaway from the hot and humidity of the lowlands to enjoy some cold air at this 1500m above sea level hill station. It is not so cold however for those who've been or coming from countries having cold/winter season.
Thanks to the greens surrounding this area you might experience some chill but not cold.
Temperature at about 5pm was 23C.
It can be warmer on the afternoon.

Favorite thing: I visited Fraser's Hill few times and I drove on both one-way and dual-way road to Fraser's Town centre before.
Around 2000 there was a newly constructed road that was intended to be a one-way route for descent and the old road were used for decent. However the newly constructed road had suffered from severe landslides. Therefore the old dual-way system has been re-instated (as of 2004) in which "up-only" hours and "down-only" at alternate hour using the old (more stable) road.
Therefore you’ll see some car lining up at both end of the Fraser's Town & The Gap at any one time.
Going Up (Odd Hours)
07.00am – 07.40am
09.00am – 09.40am
11.00am – 11.40am
01.00pm – 01.40pm
03.00pm – 03.40pm
05.00pm – 05.40pm
07.00pm – 07.40pm
Going Down (Even Hours)
06.00am – 06.40am
08.00am – 08.40am
10.00am – 10.40am
12.00pm – 12.40pm
02.00pm – 02.40pm
04.00pm – 04.40pm
06.00pm – 06.40pm
If you happen to arrive at The Gap at down-only slot, no harm walks to The Gap for a cup of strong coffee or taking your bio break. The coffee & food here are reasonably priced. The rate for staying over at The Gap Resthouse is also very affordable if you arrive after dark.

Favorite thing: If you want to cycle, this is a very good location to get sweat, road is clean, quiet, less cars or almost no cars on week days, beautiful scenery, fresh air, nature, lush greenery, almost perfect for cyclists. You can put you bicycles on car, drive to Kuala Kubu Baharu in early morning, have breakfast in the old town and go cycling towards the Fraser's Hill. You need probably 5 hours or 6.

Fondest memory: fraser's hill used to be the hill top getaway for the british a long time ago.. there are still many buildings left behind from that time.. seeing the lovely stone walls of the buildings from those colonial times are one of my favourite things in frasers.. living in one is even nicer.. :)

Favorite thing: this map is one of the most useful thing to get around frasers.. there are quite a few of it on the hill.. since we couldn't get hold of a proper map, we took a picture of this and viewed it thru the camera to find our way around.. :)

Favorite thing: It was challenging to drive on the winding road of Fraser's Hill, not so much as to driving up but it was when we reached. anes were quite narrow and we got stucked once and took a long time to reverse the jeep out. The drive was very scenic with views of the mountain range of Fraser's. Nice!

Favorite thing: In the photo is Joo and LCC. This is joo's only company trip to Fraser's hill many years ago. We have nearly 50 staffs all stayed at the big bungalow and the maid rooms but don't ask me how much they charge. It has the ambience similar to Cameron Highlands where you can see so many blossoming colorful flowers and lush green sceneries.
