If you asked me, there's only one decent joint in the whole of Fraser's Hill for cheap, inexpensive food. Mimi's strawberry cafe serves decent nasi ayam and delicious drinks. My favourite is their teh-o-strawberry ( Strawberry Black tea. RM1.50) . Somehow, it never occured to me that fresh strawberries can lend a sweet scent and taste to tea! I'll try doing the same thing when I'm back home.

What:Devonshire Cream Tea
Were:Ye Olde Smokehouse, Pahang, Malaysia
There's something about having traditional English tea at Ye Olde Smokehouse. Everything looks damm good on white procelain and the silver tiffin, doesn't it? Well, it was as delicious as it looked. The devonshire cream, the butter and the strawberry jam went really well with the buttery scones and the ooh, so fragrant Earl Grey Tea. My friends thought the same too, they finished this delicious tea in seconds after this picture was taken! Guess birding can really make you work up an appetite.
P/S The tea and scones came in a set and cost about RM$20. I thought it was a tad expensive by local standards, delicious though it may be.
TIP:Have your tea al freco in the garden. You can look out for sunbirds while having tea.

One out of three Smokehouse Restaurants is actually located at Bukit Fraser. It’s a great place for both breakfast and dinner. I personally have not taken lunch here, but I believe it should be of great experiences just like my breakfasts and dinners here.
Breakfast at Ye Olde Smokehouse Hotel and Restaurant is always all-time high on my wish list and I prefer to have them in the small garden with morning sunlight shine a little on my face in somewhat still chill morning air.
At night, it’s nice to enjoy your nicely done steak with a glass of wine by the fireplace. The English countryside setting at the waiting and dinning area is something I enjoy the most after driving in thick fogs searching for Smokehouse for my fine dines whenever I visited Fraser.
Warning:
Evening fog may build up really fast after dark. It will be good if you’ve driven pass Smokehouse in the day so that you’ll find the restaurant easier in thick fog. I normally like to use my fog lamp here because I hardly have chance to use them driving in KL.

We heard of this chinese restaurant on Fraser Hill selling the best Laksa. The restaurant is just at Fraser entrance point, where your car pass the Fraser gate.
However, after the trek, may be a bit too late.. the laksa was sold out.

this is a little stall by the road just a short distance away from the gap.. we stumbled upon it while waiting for the gate to open for us to drive up..
Favorite Dish: the roti canai smelled so good we couldn't resist trying.. and it's absolutely delicious!! perfect snack while waiting.. or even if you're not waiting!

The restuarant is situated in the town centre. It is a building on its own, very colonial, and cozy. The food served there is average but the environment and atmosphere is great. It is affordable too although it is considered expensive in that area.
