They say they sell local crafts, but they are infact Thai handicrafts. Just drop by any Thai products roadshow and u'll get to see these crafts as well. Leave a Comment |
Charges RM4 per person and calls itself Butterfly Farm but only a few inside. Some nice flowers though. Saw a plant with green coloured blooms labelled as "green roses" though they didn't resemble any rose I know of.
Enjoy the flowers, take some pixs and at least they don't charge anything for taking in a camera!
The Butterfuly Farm at Penang is much better. Leave a Comment |
The kids may ask for money. This is probably because they received candies or money from other visitors before. How do i know? Because the moment we stopped our bikes, they voluntarily walking towards us.
Just smile at them. The older ones will normally asking the young one to stop asking for $$$ if your camera is aiming at them. Leave a Comment |
The signboards are everywhere directing you to this place. It's located in Tringkap, which is the town adjacent to Brinchang. They charge you RM4 for nothing to see
If you want to see roses, better go to Mardi in Tanah Rata, where they have a rose garden, spice garden, tea garden and vegetable gardens. Leave a Comment |
Avoid this place at all cost, if not it will cost you a lot. I and my family went up Cameron Highland on a wonderful Friday and expect a good dinner. There wasn't any menu and/or price. There's only a notice saying price is up 20% during the Chinese New Year season. They'll charge you crazy for pathetic food. Fish ball soup which is basically 10 pcs of flour balls goes around RM 18. A dish of very normal vege cost about RM 17. A dish of chicken with a few slices of chicken and which doesnt taste good goes for around RM 28. Everything added in, it cost us RM 170 for 5 person simple dinner which is exorbitantly high even compared to KL standards. This restaurant is definitely a trap for tourist. They like one-time business. Address: Brinchang town Directions: If you come up from Tanah Rata towards Brinchang town, the restaurant is on the left hand side shop rows. The first restaurant on the left. See picture to see its vicinity restaurant.
Be careful of others restaurant around that have a same signage design. Or to be safe, remember to first check whether the restaurants have menu with price listed clearly before deciding to eat there. Be wary of restaurant where there are people inviting you in.
Many other restaurants around Brinchang town. Try to spot the restaurants where the locals eat at. |

Don't even think of trying this! They call it apple, but it looks more like pear. They say it's juicy and sweet. Juicy it is, but it's tasteless. Like plain water... Not worth wasting your money on this!
If you can't resist trying, just buy a fruit to munch on. Don't get a bunch!
Why not try Cameron strawberry? Tastes much better. |
We were brought even before our hotel to a tour agency called Tittiwangsa in Brinchang. This lady boarded our bus and started talking about the day tours they provide. In our bleary just-woken state we signed up fro the country tour. Then we realised we have actually already signed up with our agency back in Singapore for a country tour too. Which was to be arranged by our hotel. Arghhh!! The tours were quite similar, bringing you to the usual flower gardens and tea plantations. Having said that, I did enjoy having Tittiwangsa's tour guide bring us around. Maybe coz the group was smaller than the hotel aranged tour group. Anyway, do check out the tours properly before signing up so that you don't end up on similar tours.
Ask the tour guide if you can change some places. Like we were scheduled to go to Cactus Garden both in Tittiwangsa tour and the hotel tour. So we asked the hotel tour guide to bring us to Rose Garden instead.
We wanted to demand money back for the Tittiwangsa tour when we realised the hotel tour that we've already signed up for was similar. But they've cunningly proclaimed no refunds on the receipt they issued. =( Leave a Comment |

Well, Butterfly Garden has been included in our tour, but trust me I wouldn't go there by myself. If you are into butterflies and insects, please go ahead, otherwise, give it a miss. Butterfly Garden is home to 300 different species of butterflies and to some beetles, scorpions and other insects.
Make sure that you use the opportunity to see these animals up close and even to touch them.
Again, if this visit is already included in a tour, go ahead. It just takes about 30 minutes. Alternatives? Spend more time at the tea plantations. Leave a Comment |
we signed up the tour package with one of the travel agency in brinchang when we reached there in the morning. thinking that the nature tour package was interesting because it consist of the place we would like to visit, one of them would be the waterfall, we wasn't told which waterfall we were going, (only knowing that there's 2 waterfalls around but they are pretty far to travel to without our own vehical) when we reached the waterfall, i am quite disappointing because it don't really look like a waterfall to me, more like a canal. with quite a lot of rubbish in the water, like plastic bags etc... it's definitely not those type of waterfall that is breath taking. it's a big disappointment.
it's ok to just take a look and not have too much hope that it's gonna be a spectacular view.
if you are taking up with tour packages, it would be nice to ask the guide which water fall they are taking you to, i am not sure if it will work, but you could try asking them to take you to robinson fall instead. or just op out of it if you dont want to see such view. :-\ Leave a Comment |
