If you got your own transportation, it is one of the best ways to explore Malaysia. Going to Cherating from the south (Singapore) can be long. From JB, you need to get to Kota Tinggi first before hitting Trunk Road 3 up north past Mersing, Kuala Rompin, Pekan and Kuantan.
A faster way to Kuantan and Cherating from Singapore. A tip from fellow motorists. As usual get into the NSE (E2). Exit at 241 Yong Peng Utara and head towards Segamat via Highway 1. At Segamat get into Highway 12 (Tun Razak Highway) which heads north. At Gambang, go eastward along Highway 2 towards Kuantan. If you don't want to make a stopover at Kuantan, turn into Highway 3 which bypasses Kuantan and head straight to Cherating, Kuala Terengannu and beyond.
Due to my own time consuming, i drove to there, as what i commonly done before. it is my first driving by own to Kuatan. It is not so difficult to find the way to Cherating. U just need start from Karak point and exit at the last point (at least at this moment, seen Kuala Terengganu part still in processing.). Then, u will see a sign board like picture. Then just follow the way shows to K.Terengganu. U might not see any sign more to Cherating. Why? I dont know..
