Favorite thing: The tranquility, cool breeze, warm friendly citizens of Janda Baik is somehow touching us. As a backpackers, we made our most possible ways to learn, absorb, understand the roots of the culture in Malaysia particularly in Janda Baik and trying to understand the challenge face by this beautiful place.
We were very fortunate to meet some Friends of Janda Baik (FOJB) team during which they're on the task taking various different samples of water from different streams/rivers in Janda Baik for their further analysis.
Fondest memory: The fondest memory about Janda Baik is obviously the existing natural rainforest and clear streams that run across it not to mentioned the beautiful Malay architecture wooden village houses that shape the character of Janda Baik. Indeed this is the resources of Janda Baik, without this resources of the combination of the above factors, Janda Baik will lost it character and touch.
FOJB are participating in making effort to sustain and protect these resources of Janda Baik. We went trekking into the rainforest and observing/studies the impact of illegal hill farming (ginger) and de-forestration process by alien chinese farmers that destroy the beautiful rainforest, its eco-system and tremendously causing erosion that could resulted to flash flood and landslip toeards surrounding areas.
