Yik Kee Restaurant: Yik Kee Restaurant in Karak

The Restaurant is located in Pekan Baru Karak. Very famous for their Big Prawn Noodle, rice dumpling, siew pau (Roasted Bun with meat filling) and some malaysian delicacies and they even have their own made soy sauce.( Taste really good)
My recomendation will be the Big prawn noodle we ate, very tasty, Deep fried noodle soak in gravy with big prawn.
The Rice dumpling is twice the size of the normal ones, filling with salkted egg yolk, braised meat and dried shrimp. A very home taste kind of rice dumpling. (RM8/ piece)

The ambience of the restaurant is like the Coffee shop back in 60's and 70's. With totally obsoleted table and chairs, cashier counter with candy sell in plastic can, very vintage feel. However they do have a separated air con dinning room

The lunch is quite pricey, Approx RM80 for prawn noodle and the bring home rice dumpling.
Very friendly staff.

This restaurant has a weird and funny name.... "You Jian He Yu Fan Dian" mean "There are a restaraunt who sell fresh water fish" funny right?

The food is fresh and nice here, we tried claypot "Fei Zhou" Fish, taufoo, Claypot pork's tail, "Kou Yok", vege...etc.. you should try when u are here...

Yik Kee Restaurant

Once you have turned in to the main road, you will see two row of shops. On your right, you will notice Yik Kee Restaurant.

One thing unique about this restaurant is that it has its own durian orchard. As such, fresh durians are available in the restaurant. Pick your durians, weigh and eat them in comfort. Note that price here is doubled if compared with eating durians at the nearby stalls.

There is one small section of the restaurant in air-conditioning. A new branch has opened in Goh Tong Jaya, Genting Highlands.

Favorite Dish: The shop is made known by its Siew Pau (Roasted bun with BBQ pork filling). Other than pastries, rice and noodles are available from kitchen. Their signature seafood noodle (small RM8) is worth trying.

You can pack home some Siew Pau (RM1.20), Durian Bomb (Fried Durian, RM1.50) and other variety of pastries. Note: Pastries boxes cost separately.
