The 18-holes par-72 course plays to a short 5,914m from the blue tees... with the Floral (1st) Nine playing to 2,883m and the Palm (2nd) Nine to a longer 3,031m... The course is undulating with water coming into play (either hazard or lateral) in all the holes... The course is rather hot due to the non-maturing trees...
Equipment: The club has a big clubhouse with the registration counter by the side of the pro-shop... There are conference room facilities and function halls for wedding and seminars... Besides the man and lady changing rooms, there is also a golfer's terrace... The course maintenance is found to be wanting...
The Astana Golf & Country Club has been closed indefinitely since beginning of 2009 due (mainly) to mis-management as well as poor patronage...

One of the things that interested me during our trip to Kuantan was that they had a dedicated rugby pitch in the middle of downtown. Upon further research, it appears that there is an annual 7-a-side rugby tournament that is played here in Pahang province every year.
Although I could not find too much more information about this tournament on the internet, it appears to be on the first weekend of December every year, so if you are going to be in Kuantan around that time, please stop in!
