Therefore, please don't chance it. Give yourself a break and take a rest at the Maran Rest Area. The toilets are clean and has good ventilation (through the openings near the roof) - therefore there is practically no stinky smell. There are also showers, a surau for prayers and a baby change area. Apart from that, if you need some fueling up, you can also buy snacks, cut fresh fruit, tid bits and drinks here. However, there are no real food stalls. Leave a Comment |
...cute, furry rabbits I mean. Then make for the rabbit farm at Bukit Tinggi, in the general vicinity of Colmar Tropicale, the French styled highland resort. It's about an hour's drive from Kuala Lumpur. From Petaling Jaya, best to take the Sprint highway through Kepong/Batu Caves and follow signs to Genting Highlands / Bukit Tinggi. The turn off to Bukit Tinggi is the one after the Genting Highland exit. If you've got young kids, they'll love cuddling the rabbits in the open enclosure. Entrance fee is RM3.00 and a packet of rabbit food is RM1.00 each. To have sufficient play time with the rabbits your kid will likely go through 3-4 packets of rabbit food. Leave a Comment |
We were camping next to Sungai Rompin for taking bath and water supply reasons. You can see those trucks still parked at our last night camping site. These trucks not only great for off-roading, they were good for flattening the bushes to make way for campsite as well. Bushes will grow back in no time and the trail will be totally reclaimed by the bushes should 4-wheelers stop visiting for more than 3 months. Sungai = River Leave a Comment |
Beserah is a fishing village and is well-known for salted fish. But what many people do not know is a very unique practice of the Beserah fishermen: they employ water buffaloes to transport fish from the boats to the processing area. |
I was waiting for other trucks to cross the pit and it may take a good 20 mins to an hour for everyone to cross any given obstacle like this. It is all depending on how many trucks & worst still if there are many newbies in the group. Anyway, we have plenty of time (and beer) and the whole journey will normally take about 2-3 days.
