Beserah is a fishing village and is well-known for salted fish. But what many people do not know is a very unique practice of the Beserah fishermen: they employ water buffaloes to transport fish from the boats to the processing area.
I was waiting for other trucks to cross the pit and it may take a good 20 mins to an hour for everyone to cross any given obstacle like this. Give yourself a break and take a rest at the Maran Rest Area.The toilets are clean and has good ventilation (through the openings near the roof) - therefore there is practically no stinky smell. There are also showers, a surau for prayers and a baby change area.Apart from that, if you need some fueling up, you can also buy snacks, cut fresh fruit, tid bits and drinks here. However, there are no real food stalls.
