    Taugeh Chicken: Taugeh Chicken

    by l_joo Updated Mar 31, 2005

Eating chicken here is too easy and too simple, if you don't mind using your fingers, you can just grab the chicken and put inside your mouth, that's all you need to do. But one thing you have to learn is, to eat together with taugeh and horfun, so that you are eating the best of Ipoh, the famous Taugeh Chicken.

Taugeh (Bean sprouts in plate): Taugeh (Bean sprouts in plate)

    by l_joo Updated Mar 31, 2005

Taugeh (Bean sprouts in plate), yes the picture here is taugeh or bean sprouts. Here is Ipoh, they eat these bean sprouts in a plate like this, and you just use your chopsticks or fork to pick a bunch to put into your mouth, doing this together with eating the chicken and horfun soup. The cost of this meal together with chicken and horfun soup normall come to around 7 or 8 ringgits each.

Ipoh white coffee: Ipoh white coffee

    by l_joo Updated Mar 31, 2005

Ipoh white coffee is available at most of the shops here. I was told the coffee was local made, I bought some the last few trips back home, but I did not try, because I seldom drink coffee, I prefer Chinese tea.

Foo San: Don't miss this restaurant of Dim Sum

    by l_joo Updated May 6, 2004
    Joo in Foo San

City centre looks like 70’s Kuala Lumpur. The main objective and mission to visit Ipoh for me is to stop over and eat the famous Taugeh Chicken Rice and if I arrive early in the morning, I will go to the Dim Sum restaurant, Foo San (photo).

    Weng Kee Seafood Restaurant: Seafood...

    by 4Czens Written Sep 11, 2002

It's air-conditioned, so you can eat comfortably. If you notice, there are a few recommendations here that are from Ipoh Garden. That's because I stay here when in Ipoh.

Favorite Dish: Lai Yau Fish (usually this style is used for prawns, but here they make the fish this way too).

Sorry the translation is not available 'cos I'm not good with food terms... Does "fried butter fish with curry leaves" help?

One of my favourite coffee shops in Ipoh is Chang Jiang. It serves good white coffee. The aroma and fragrance is good. Most of the coffee shops in Ipoh also serve white coffee. RM1.2 a cup.
