There's not much in the way of nightlife in Taiping and I struggled to find a bar. However, I did stumble across an open-air place with a large screen TV beside the rear of the Larut Matang District Office building. Here I watched English football on ESPN whilst drinking a couple of cokes (beer isn't served).

If you arrive late in Taiping to go to the Zoo during the day time, do not fret.
There is a Zoo Night Safari. There is a trolley car to take you around. You can hear the creatures and insects coming alive in the dark. On a cloudless night, you can see the moon or shining stars above.
What a wonderful family outing to explore the zoo in the dark.

there's really not much night life in taiping except for this.. the taiping zoo night safari!! :) before we went, we had this impression that it was going to be like the african safari where u sit in a jeep driving around looking for animals.. but what it actually is is seeing taiping zoo after sunset! :) to our surprise, it was actually pretty interesting.. a lot of animals that are usually lethargic in the hot afternoon sun are now out and about.. plus, we managed to get there during feeding time, around 8 plus.. for rm10 per person for the entrance fee, it was a good experience all round..
btw, we got to see lots of animals.. including slow loris, my fav! unfortunately, we didn't get many pictures as we were not allowed to use flash.. this is so that the aimals are not disturbed..
Dress Code: wear anything but u might wanna cover up a bit to avoid getting mosquito bites..
