According to fishermen, nowaday fishery has become not easy with higher fuel price. But when good season and good harvest, we can see happy faces elsewhere in the fishing village of Tanjung Piandang as many local people and local industries are very much dependence on the harvest.
It is a good harvesting season of Kembong fish in July and August. Kembong is very tasty fish regardless the cooking methods. The size range from 5 inches to 9 inches in length . When it is a good season with extra suppy, the frozen industry will freeze the fish and keep them in the coldroom as stock to be consumed during low season of this species.
Drive along and to your left and right, beside you can see the tradisional Malay houses, you can also see the wide area of padi feild in freshy greenish or golden yellow. Do drop by and have a close look. I guess many people never have a close look at the real padi plant on land.
I had my first close look experience at Jati Luwih Padi Field, Bali. Remember, If your children are along, stop and ask permission from the owner to have a look. It must be a great experience.
Durian harvest in November - December 2011 is a good. Beside durian, other local fruit such as rambutan, mangosteen, papaya, banana and petai are also on sale. I stop by to buy durian and mangosteen.
Local Choice of Malay Foods - Nasi Lemak, Roti Canai, Nasi Campur, All kind of fried noodles and many choice of drinks
Favorite Dish: Roti Canai - it is served hot. Hot is good, some food must be served hot to be good, I think.
