Cautious Stretch of Highway near Ipoh
Drive carefully on the PLUS highway just north of Ipoh. It is a beautiful stretch, cutting across hill cliffs. The speed sign is 80 kmh from the normal highway of 110 kmh.Before of the steep gradient, you can see some times buses breaking down or car overheating at the road side. You will go through a tunnel and headlamps must be turned on. After the tunnel, if you are heading to Ipoh, it is now a steep and winding slope down. The road is wide but check your speed. There are numerous caution signs as you will soon have to slow down for the Jelapang toll booth. This has been a frequent accident area and long term plans are made to move the toll booth to another location.For the time being, enjoy the scenic view, drive slow and safely on this stretch.
