About 40km north from Kangar, travellers will reach the border between Malaysia and Thailand, Padang Besar
For those who not crossing the border, it is still has the chance to encounter the Thai atmosphere when shopping along the shops in Padang Besar.
In Padang Besar, there are food products, clothes, accessories from Thailand sold here. Most of the people speak Thai and they know Thai culture well.
What to buy: All sort of things that you can see in Thailand
What to pay: Price are negotiable. Prices from RM5 - RM20 depends on what you want, but of course, there is no very branded goods.

It is not a shop, just some small huts along the roadside to Padang Besar.
Where to get fish inland?? It is fresh water fish from Empangan Timah Tasoh (the dam). Guarantee fresh and cheap fish everyday.
Travellers, if interested to buy, is suggested to buy and bring to any of the restaurant. The restaurant will cook by the way you ask or traditional way
What to buy: Fresh water fish!!! Very fresh fish!!! You may also join the fishing boat to the middle of the lake for even more FRESH fishes.

Ian't the same with shopping in Metropolitan, it is the morning market for the locals. All you get in this market will not the same in the shopping mall.
