If you are been Penang, don't forget to buy some Tambun / Tau Sar Piah. There are lot of shop selling Tau Sar Piah but I find this shop have a best piah (biscuits) I ever tasted. It may be a long way up to Ayer Itam but I don't mind. Buy them as present from Penang.
What to buy: Tau Sar Piah, Pong Piah and Postman cake (the name got stuck as Postman cake from my cousin Gerard, as we delivered his favourite Heow Piah to Singapore by Post, so till now, we called it Postman cake :-)))
What to pay: RM4.00 - Postman Cake
RM6.00 - Pong Piah
RM11.00 - Tambun Piah.
Roughly estimate the prices.
There are quite a few places in town to get measured up for a suit and Malaysia's prices are not unreasonable. I personally prefer doing business with the Chinese rather than the Indian tailors, although you need to be prepared to bargain well, once a price is agreed you can trust the work is done well and you'll be more than satisfied with your suit.
What to pay: 800 ringit for shirt trousers and suit
