Rub-a-dub-dub! by moomoos After the having a great time at the beach, tired from the hike and fun, you can opt to take a boat back from either the Mukah Head beach or the Pantai Keracut beach. Though I would suggest making prior arrangements in case your mobile phone has no signal along the hiking trail (which happens all the time), you can also make make last minute requests/arrangements with Ah Boo. On the average, the fee is RM5.00 (USD1.30) per person. But if you're a tourist, you will probably be charged a little more unless you're skilled at bargaining. The boat will take you to the jetty where you started off the hiking trail at the "End of the World Restaurant". When you are dropped off, you will have to cross several boats anchored & parked side-by-side to reach the wooden jetty. While passing through the boats, there are sometimes interesting things to photograph. Under normal circumstances, they wouldn't mind being photographed, but please do ask for permission first! The phenomenal lake of Pantai Keracut. by moomoos After three quarters of the journey, you will arrive at Pantai Keracut where you will find a lovely lake. This lake is only present from March until August because the sandy embankment protecting the lake from the sea is broken down by wave action around September. The monsoon affects the beach structure naturally. Sun, Sand & Sea by moomoos Along the way, should you get tired, just sit down by the beach - replenish your body with lots of fluids and just enjoy the beach. Leave a Comment

The beach is mine...all mine! by moomoos As you can see from the picture, there aren't many ppl on the beaches along the trail. If you don't like idea of sharing the beach with people, the effort the hike is well paid off by the "secludicity" of the beaches. Keep in mind, it was a Saturday when I went. Can't imagine how little human traffic there would be on a weekday. Leave a Comment

The suspension bridge along the trail by moomoos In Penang, you can take a day off from the cultural and gastronomical adventure and head towards Teluk Bahang for a short hike to Mukah Head where there is an old lighthouse. Hiking trail starts from the "End of the World Restaurant" and takes about 2-3 hours on the average. Hiking trail weaves from jungle treks to stretches of the beach. The trail is well maintained and bridges are provided at certain points. Leave a Comment

Beach view from the chalet. by moomoos Nearly halfway through the hike, there are a row of chalets by the beach which you can rent. You can see the wooden balcony of the chalets from the left hand corner of the pic. This part of the island essentially consists of finishing villages. You can see anchored boats by the beach. The operator of these chalets can also arrange for water activities such as Jetskiing, Scuba Diving, Snorkelling, Island Hopping, Deep Sea Fishing, Picnic & BBQ and also the Banana Boat Ride. Not confined to the north sea of Penang, he is able to arrange for these activites at Langkawi Island, north of Penang & about 2 hours boat ride from Penang. The address is : 15 Jalan Hassan Abbas, Teluk Bahang, 11050 Penang. Leave a Comment Phone: Ah Boo : +6016-4400 111Other Contact: Kang : +6016-4400 077

Teluk Bahang is on the northwesternmost tip of Penang Island. A small fishing village, it nevertheless has many attractions of Pulau Pinang -- the Hotel Mutiara Beach, the Butterfly Farm, the Forest Reserve, The Dam plus the fishing village itself. Leave a Comment
