Restaurant Terapung Pulau Aman: Worst Service of Restaurant Terapung Pulau Aman

    by AnthonyS18 Written Dec 13, 2013

very bad service from the owner and staff. the owner is a racist too. restaurant didn't provide price tag too, and the owner will scold you if you ask for the price. Average one mantis prawn will cost you around RM40-RM50, so it's not cheap. Pulau Aman still is a nice place to visit, but please skip this restaurant. Not worth it.

To avoid the crowds in Pulau Aman, its best not to go on weekend, Saturday and Sunday. The restaurant was so crowded with customers, we just have to buy our drinks (whole coconut juice) and sit beside the beach. What a pity!!

    Don't come on weekend.

Restoran Terapung, Pulau Aman: Fresh Seafood, yummmmmy...

The only Pulau Aman's famous floating seafood restaurant. The seafood was so fresh as you can see fishermen bringing in all the live catch, which include varieties of prawns, fish, flower crabs and mantis prawns. You can even choosing and catching your own and get the restaurant to cook for you at minimal charges. (They only steamed and dip in Maggi cili sauce, thats not to my liking) I wish the man who takes orders to put on a smilling face.. Your face looked so fierce like a Harimau (tiger)..Grrrrr...

On 4-6-2013, I was here with my friend, before we start walking around the Island, we stopped here to have breakfast at 11.30am, we just ordered a plate of nasi goreng udang (Fried rice with big prawns) for RM 6.00 to share, and my friend ate the most prawns and rice. Sedap!

Oh, the man who takes orders, I'm surprised he got a smilling face after all.

Favorite Dish: Mee Kuah Udang (Prawns soup noodles) and Koay Teow Goreng Udang (Fried Noodles with Prawns) and Calamansi & Asamboi juice..

Food for two of us cost RM14.80..very reasonable price..

Nasi Goreng Udang RM 6.00 with 4 big fresh prawns.

Restoran Nelayan Pulau Aman: Eating prawn (shrimp) noodles

One of the major attractions of Pulau Aman is to eat "Mee Udang" (Prawn Noodles) at the restaurant located right at the village boat jetty.

The fresh prawns run out fast and so do order early. Very often, the prawns will run out and you can still order other dishes like fried noodles or fried rice without the prawns. Disappointment. But if you hang around, new prawns may arrive by boat and then the "Mee Udang" is on the menu again.

The cooking style is Malay frying with heavy soup gravy. The prawns is fresh. Each standard plate comes with 4 prawns at RM5. There are fizzy drinks and drinking water sold but do not expect to get alcoholic beverages as this is a Malay restaurant.

I used to vist P.Aman and the floating restaurant as I do have my own boat. The island offer a short relief from the busy city life.
But however, the floating restautant owner is arrogant and the workers is very rude. If you try to bargain or just ask a question on the seafood, they will shout at u " I don't want to sell to you" or " you jagan beli lagi bagus". The restaurant owner is doing well because of most chinese customer is eating there and bringing him his wealth but he just forget his wealth is from the customer and he act like a war lord. The seafood price has also gone up over the years, now a KG of fresh prawn is more expensive than what I can get in the island. The prawn noodles quality also drop and they also reduce to only 2 small prawn vs last time is 4 and remain the price. Overall, this floating restaurant is sucks, over price and it should be boycott. I will never step into this restaurant anymore eventhough I had visited this place for more than 10 times, enough is enough, some people is just failed to change.
