  • Public Transport in Penang

    Penang Transportation

Penang provides free shuttle service to historical sites and the service runs in a loop. You can hop-on or off the shuttle at any point where the bus-stop signs shows the free shuttle service. We boarded the shuttle bus from within Komtar (see picture). Frequency, isn't great but it is free and stops are near historical sites.

  • Ferry Terminal to Butterworth

    Penang Transportation

I do not know since when the passengers' deck on a ferry has been fenced to a smaller area in the middle of the upper deck. It may because the passengers has become less compare to last time. On this trip to Butterworth, they are less motor vehicles crossing the Strait of Malacca, other wise, some cars are to be parked surrounding the passengers;...

  • Getting to Penang by bus from KL

I used the same company that I used getting from Singapore to KL.Plusliner run normal buses at cheap prices and the more expensive 'NiCE' buses. The NiCe ones only have 24 seats and therefore are extremely roomy. A breakfast is provided but it is Asian style and it was too early in the day for my stomach! There is one rest stop for about 20 minutes....

  • Airport to Hotel by Taxi

For most tourists, the most convenient transport from the airport to your hotel, unfortunately, is only the airport taxi. There is no direct bus service.
