Fish in the pond in Centrepoint, in Bandar Utama..

Some fish in the pond, taken by me at Centrepoint Mall.
People in Malaysia like to breed fish in their houses. Not easy to take care of them so don't ask me for any tips...
Nice to look at, nice to eat; That's what I would always think about fish !

    Nice hanging things...in PJ

These are really nice plants; I think it could be the flowers which don't really look like flowers that you could see on the photo !
Stripey yellow & red...& hanging out from the gate, they do look nice !
Photo was taken as I go out for my 'flower expedition' again...around the residential area where I live.

    No Tipping Required

You don't have to pay any tips in Petaling Jaya or anywhere else in Malaysia. Tips are usually included in the price .. you might notice this if you look at some receipts (e.g. those who make a note of this more prominently are the more modern/westernised restaurants such as fast-food outlets, etc.) & you will find at the bottom of the receipt - government tax x% & service charge x% .. you can always leave spare change if you went to a restaurant that's air-conditioned, but it is not essential.

Same goes for taxi drivers, porters in hotels, etc. - you don't have to tip. However, when exceptional service had been provided (e.g. when you know for sure that a taxi driver had not taken you for an 'extended' ride, you've been living in a 5-star hotel and the porter had been most helpful, etc., you may feel free to tip .. just realise that you don't HAVE to, as that's not the norm.

If you go to pubs/bar, or somewhere in a Hotel, the same rule applies to the 'air-conditioned' places .. you can always leave some spare change - people usually leave the small change in coins that were given when they paid in cash.

The cat was looking at me as if I was a flower freak ! The neighbour probably thought so too about me.
Whatever, she had a nice flower...just this one I took a photo of !

    Purposely planted flowers...in PJ

These flowers were taken near where I work, TESCO Hypermarket area.
Maybe purposely planted so that the hedges would be colourful but it's a nice sight anyway for my camera & also for your eyes, I hope...

Passage to Sunway Lagoon Via Sunway Resort

by machomikemd Written Jun 17, 2014
    turn right after the pool
    4 more images

one advantage of staying at the Sunway Resort and Spa Hotel is that they have a shortcut going to Sunway Lagoon from the ground floor, Unlike if you are staying at the Sunway Pyramid Hotel or Sunway Pramid Suites, wherein you woul go out and ride a fairly long escalator ride from the outside of the hotel to the back entrance to the Sunway Lagoon Theme Park. While those staying at the Sunway Resort & Spa Hotel only need to go to the ground floor and to the poolside and turn right to a foothpath to a steel gate separating the hotel from the Sunway Lagoon Entrance. Just insert your Hotel Keycard and viola, a few steps then you are nopw at the entrance to Sunway lagoon. this is you way going back to the hotel after a day of fun!

Just remember to present your reservation for the entrance or pay at the counter if you have no paid reservation to Sunway Lagoon Theme Park.

You don't need to eat at the restaurants in the hotels around the Bandar Sunway area, Just going inside the Huge Sunway Pyramid Mall Complex will make you salivate as they have many food options available for practically any budget and the cuisines here are varied and international, ranging from Malaysian, Different Chinese Cuisines, Japanese, Indian, Vegetarian, American, Middle Eastern, Taiwanese, Malaysian Regional Cuisine and a lot more.

You can also eat at the hawker stalls and cheaper 24 hour malaysian restaurants and KFC at the Jalan PJS streets just across the Mall at the Jalan Lagur Timur (9/1) and the various perpendicular Jalan PJS streets around it.

    Non Halal Restaurants & Bars

by machomikemd Updated Jun 18, 2014
    4 more images

If eating out at the Restaurants around Malaysia and even around the Metropolitan Kuala Lumpur and Klang Valley Area (Including Petaling Jaya), you must assume that most restaurants are halal! whether it is Japanese, Chinese, American, European, Thai and other cuisines as Malaysia is a Muslim Majority Nation.

However, you would know if the restaurants, fast food stands, restaurants at malls and even at the Hawker Joints are Non HalaL as they have posters or markers saying that their restaurants or food stalls or hawker joints that post a BIG NON HALAL SIGN.

Beer Bars, Sports Bars and Dance Clubs are automatically Non Halal as it is forbidden for Muslims to drink Alcoholic Drinks.
