Sunway Pyramid ( Bandar Sunway )

    by cs_zee Written Oct 18, 2007

Sunway Pyramid - One of the mall's most easily recognised design is the Egyptian-inspired Pyramid with a lion "standing guard" at the entrance. The rest of the building is embellished in the monumental style, complete with pseudo-hieroglyphics decorating facades, along with numerous Pharonic statuaries.

    Wisma Thrifty: Wisma Thrifty

by mansionion Updated Jan 7, 2006

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Wisma Thrifty is one of the first shopping place in PJ. It was previosuly occupied by Thrifty Supermarket (hence the name Wisma Thrifty) which used to be a popular place for the local PJ folks to shop for their daily need. Its location just accross the street from PJ Hilton also make it conveneice for those staying in the hotel to shop for some items there.

Nowadays, Wisma Thrifty has been renovated and up graded. The Thrifty Supermarket has been replaced by the chain store Giant Supermarket. Apart from the supermarket, other tenants in the building are Courts Mammoth (furniture and electrical store), Royal Selangor pewter and Coffee Beans & Tea Leaves.

The tenants of Wisma Thrifty can always change but the building will still remain one of the popular shopping place in PJ.

What to buy: Groceries items, daily need, Selangor Pewter etc.

    Amcorp Mall: Amcorp Mall

by mansionion Written Jun 6, 2004

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Amcorp Mall is part of the 3 in 1 development in the PJ new town area (AmCorp is the name of the buildings owner & developer, Arab-Malaysian Corporation). It is centrally located in Petaling Jaya and houses a variety of outlets from a supermarket to eateries, boutiques, cineplex and amusement centres.

However, its main attraction is probably the weekend Flea Market on Saturdays and Sundays where dozens of participants set up tables all over the mall selling everything from antiques to actual vinyl records. Homemade food, old and new toys, knick-knacks and gift items galore can be found at the Flea Market.

On weekend, peoples throng this mall for its Sunday Flea Market.

What to buy: Look out for interesting stuff in its Flea Market - something that you'll probably can't find elsewhere.

Also, within these walls, you can find good restaurants, locals or westerns...where you can sample the delicacies/drinks being offered there !
