Although some locals do it, but the regulation is getting increasingly strict over littering. Depending on the area & local council policy, the fine for littering could start from a few hundred Malaysian Ringgits, up to RM5000. If children litter, the parents are held responsible & will have to pay the fine anyway. Leave a Comment

If you go out for a drink at a club/pub/bar, do not leave your drink unattended or accept a drink from a stranger too easily - if you're offered a drink you would not like to refuse, make sure that it's prepared whilst you're watching at the bar & finish it before you walk away ... to the restroom, etc. Drinks could be spiked easily if you're not careful. And avoid drugs or pills offered to you in public, especially in nightspots because there are usually raids by police & you could land in serious trouble - possession of drugs/pills & drug trafficking in Malaysia is a serious offence, with jail as minimum punishment, but serious cases leads to the death penalty. Never take a lift from a stranger - people around here without motives would not usually stop to pick up people. The ones who do are usually up to something - so unless you're prepared to risk something (being robbed, kidnapped, etc.), then do not consider this at all. For ladies with handbags, try to carry those that you can sling across your body .. if you have a shoulder bag, when you're walking on the road, put it on the side of your shoulder that is not nearer to the road (to avoid attracting any snatch thieves that operates on motorcycles). In any case, as with any other places you visit in the world, practise moderation & hang on closer to your valuables. When taking cabs at night, especially if you're a lady, make sure the first thing you do is check the taxi driver's i.d. (usually located on the front left of the dashboard) & try to remember a little detail if possible such as a no. plate & name. Do not fall asleep or try to shut your eyes for a short nap whilst waiting to get to your destination because cunning drivers might take you on longer routes, & fake drivers might pose as taxi drivers (to kidnap, rob, etc.). But if you've got a pretty normal ride, don't be surprised if you're charged double (twice of what you see on the taxi meter) if you've travelled after midnight. Leave a Comment

To play, you just pick a 4-digit number, or 4D number, from the 10,000 possible numbers of 0000 to 9999. You win when the 4D number you picked matches one or more of the winning 4D numbers drawn by us. See, simple right? Well, don't get addicted, thats my only word of advice *grin* Want to know more? There are times when you see street vendors selling stuff to you or even 'blind' people or beggars. I'm not saying to be ignorant but at least aware of what they are capable of doing. There are more of these potentional conmen lurking so be careful and act smart when approached.

Horning to get the spot ! by coceng Another mention about traffics in Petaling Jaya even the rest of Kuala Lumpur... When you finally see a spot to park you car, you can see that there are like a few cars already waiting to 'enter' the spot ! Who comes first...you say ? No no no...you HORN (honing...) other cars to let them know that you saw the spot first ! So,...when somebody is honing you back, maybe...that driver saw that spot first ? I always love seeing this scene... Leave a Comment

On the roads... by coceng If you are driving, be careful when being on the road in this area... Cars are many, motorbikes are many, lorries are many as well...not to mention people crossing the roads at odd places, cyclists peddle sometimes in the middle of the roads etc. Leave a Comment

Almost empty... by coceng Sometimes though, the roads could be as empty as what you could see on the left... In the morning & early evening when people coming back from work, this stretch of road is always full of traffics !... This could be said to most areas around Petaling Jaya, especially the housing areas whereas the roads leading to the big shopping complexes, well...they are mostly 'filled-in' at all hours ! Unless the shopping complex is not doing well business-wise... Leave a Comment

Stop & look, Before you cross the street.. by st_hannes Ooh.. I once was walking along KFC SS2 to Georgetown Chemists when I saw an Indian lady got dragged to the ground by a snatch-thief on a motorbike. I tried to give chase on foot, but my Diadora Space Runner was not a match for their Yamaha SS110.. So please, gals, DON'T walk alone especially in quiet back-alleys, with your handbags to the side of the traffic.. You might get your bags snapped or worse, your ARMS! These people crawl slowly behind you on exhaust pipe-modified bikes so that you don't hear them. Once the have a hold on your bag, they'll speed off yanking your bag in the process.. I have to say, I've seen this happening too often.. Leave a Comment
