Kepong: "Blood-suckers" in FRIM
If you go to FRIM during rainy season to trek, expect to "befriend" some really passionate "blood-suckers" - yea...the leech! The leech is a blood sucking worm, either in light brown colour or black, and it sticks out like an antenna and loves to cling on to human/animals to draw out the blood. They will bloat up/becomes fatter when they are fully fed and thus will automatically drops off from the "victim"During the trek, whatever shoes/sandals or socks you have on to protect yourselves from it , you will not be spared. They are so swift and small that they can just slip themselves into your socks, without you knowing..until you see a little red patch on your stained socks.Well, of course if you choose to wear socks and shoes, you will feel, in a way, much protected but the disadvantage is that you will not be able to know if a leech has crawled into your shoes and socks and to take out...
