Favorite thing: The First King of Malaysia was from Negeri Sembilan. His excellency protrait is displayed on all Malaysia ringgit bill.
Tuanku Abdul Rahman ibni Almarhum Tuanku Muhammad (1895-1960) was Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan(1933–1960) and the first Yang Di Pertuan Agong of Malaysia from 1957-1960. His excellency was chosen by the Council of Rulers which consists of all the 9 Kings from Perlis, Kedah, Perak, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Pahang, Kelantan and Terengganu. There are no kings for Penang, Melaka, Sabah and Sarawak.
His excellency name should be confused with the first Prime Minister of Malaysia who is of royal blood of the Kedah Sultanate, Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj ibni Almarhum Sultan Abdul Hamid Halim Shah or Tunku Abdul Rahman in short.
So whenever you look at the Malaysian currency bill, you know who the person is.

Favorite thing: Negeri Sembilan is dwarfed by size and development by her neighbor Selangor State.
When driving in Negri Sembilan, one can still see rolling hills of rubber tree and oil palm plantations. Like Selangor, eventually, this greenery will be replaced by new housing estates, educational institutions or factories.
Depending on the changing price of each raw commodity, often rubber trees have been replanted by oil palm.
For the time being, the greenery is pleasing to the eyes.

Favorite thing: These organic land mines can be found almost quite common if you're entering small villages.
You may not spot any of them on you way driving along main road accessible to Sri Menanti. But be prepared to see/splash some on your car tires if you're exploring smaller villages to better appreciate the Minangkabau roof arts & kampong lifestyles.

Favorite thing: Most roofs in Negeri Sembilan will concave upward a little. Majority of the houses will also be painted with dark color. Some families have lately painted the pillars with brighter colors and redefined the colorful lifestyle of Negeri people.
According to Pepatik custom, men in Negeri Sembilan will be married into the female families. The wife will also have major say in daily lives. This is what we call girl power!!!

Favorite thing: If you want to see the best of Negeri Sembilan, you must use federal express way. Although getting around using PLUS highway is great, but federal express way will give you most scenic views and you can see the real kampong living.
