Seremban Transportation

Most of Seremban bound expres buses nowadays depart from the makeshift terminal next to the Klang river - between Pasar Seni LRT station and Kuala Lumpur railway station/Dayabumi building. It iss better to go here then Puduraya since there are more choice of buses at regular interval (every 15-30mins) departing from here.

The railway station was constructed between 1904 to 1910 and is one of the main on the north-south line of KTM's intercity trains service from Pandang Besar (in the nroith) to Singapore (in the south)... There is also a line to Port Dickson which has since been discontinued but the state authorities are looking into restoring it...

The railway station has a distinctive white clock tower atop the roof of the building, topped by an onion dome... The top of the roof is adorned by wooden carvings and small pinnacles on its upper ends... The station underwent extensive remodeling in 1994 for launching of the Rawang-Seremban stretch of the KTM Komuter commuter train services in 1995... The renovation saw the retrofitting of new KTM Komuter facilities into the station, as well as the raising of all platforms in the station to support easier access in and out of KTM locomotives and coaches...

The Seremban Terminal One is the transportation hub for Seremban... Buses and taxis are available from this hub to various towns within Malaysia... The hub is the most important point for travel to Port Dickson and Kuala Lumpur... There are also buses to Johor Baru, Melaka and even the KLIA via Sepang... Transport to the north and east coast are also available...

The terminal is now connected to the Seremban railway station by a covered walkway...

There are express bus companies like Transnasional that plies between Kuala Lumpur and Seremban.

There is a popular bus pick up point near Pasar Seni/Daya Bumi in Kuala Lumpur to hop ontp the next bus heading for Seremban. Alternatively you can use Pudu Bus station.

The North South PLUS highway had made the journey between KL and Seremban easy unless there is more than usual massive traffic jam during certain peak hours, holidays, road accidents or sudden heavy downpour.

Seremban downtown is small enough to walkabout.

It is also the best way to appreciate the old narrow street and prewar buildings.

The museum and lake area is over a small hill. Other than that, it is easy walking.

Many of the prewar houses are connected by a five foot way corridor and so you can stay out of the sun while walking pass each shop or building.

There are several one way streets and a few pedestrian crossing. Safest to cross at the traffic lights.

It is very easy to drive by car to Seremban.

There is a North South PLUS Highway going south towards Johor and Singapore. It will passed by Bangi, Kajang and Nilai before exiting to Seremban. This is a toll highway.

Alternatively, if you have time, you can use the old route 1 which is without toll and goes through the small towns. It is however a dual lane and so you have to overtake or otherwise follow slow traffic.

And if you are in Port Dickson, there is route direct to Seremban.

Driving in Seremban is easy enough with the small downtown area.

From Kuala Lumpur, it is easy to take the commuter train to Seremban for a day trip.

You can take the KTM Komuter from KL Sentral or Mid Valley station, it cost RM5 one way and takes more than an hour with many stops including at Nilai and Kajang.

The ride is comfortable though during the peak hours, there is frequent delays. Fun way if you enjoy train ride and get out of Kuala Lumpur for a day.

The main bus and taxi terminal in Seremban, Terminal 1 is the new and colourful tarnsportation hub within Seremban town.

Most buses that go to all parts of Negeri Sembilan as well as the major towns of Peninsular Malaysia are stationed here. Taxis are also available here at the second floor of the terminal. All inquiries can be made at the ticket counters of the bus and taxi stations at Terminal 1.

The Seremban Railway station is also located within walking distance from Terminal 1 (about 500 meter), making commuting and transitting to the railway line much easier.
